Facebook Fandom Spotlight: Marvel Comics’ Thor

It’s Monday, which means a brand new Facebook Fandom Spotlight looking at the general comic book fan population. With the opening of the latest Thor movie, it only felt appropriate to look at who his fans were in the United States.

For this report, the terms used were that of characters, movies, comics, etc. I made sure all were Thor specific and not generic characters. For instance “Thor (Marvel Comics)” was used but not “Thor.”

Facebook Population: Over 4,000,000 fans in the US

That total is a bit lower than fans of Iron Man or The Avengers, but slightly better than Captain America. Spanish speakers account for now 600,000 fans, 15%. That’s better than the general comic populace.

Gender and Age

For general comicdon men account for 54.55% and women with 45.45% of the population. For fans of Thor, the stats aren’t quite as solid. Men make up an even 60%, while women account for 36.5%.
