Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, posted a behind the scenes photo of the anticipated film Black Adam. In the photo, we get a sense of scale for the film and a tease of the costume itself. Black Adam has been an interesting DC character playing both hero and villain and rival to Shazam. Expectations are the two characters will eventually clash in a future film.
In the post, Johnson wrote:
This image of Black Adam from behind gives you a tactile sense of the absolute massive scale and size of our movie.
You also see a little of the intricate and beautiful textured detail of Black Adam’s body suit. (this is not your typical DC or Marvel padded muscle suit)
And finally you get a glimpse of the enormous and appropriate destruction.
As we all know, superheroes have a code of justice and don’t kill the bad guys.
But, Black Adam does.
The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is changing.
A look at the Shazam family in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods has been released giving us a look at the updated costumes the heroes will be wearing.
The designs are all much more in line with the “DC aesthetic” we’ve been seeing through films. What’s interesting is not just the more detailed costumes but also some color changes from the first film.
Check out below comparing the costumes from the first film and the anticipated sequel. What do you think of the updated costumes?
Check out four new images from Justice Society: World War II, the next entry in the popular series of the DC Universe Movies. This quartet of images highlights the true ensemble nature of the film.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting April 27, 2021, and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray on May 11, 2021.
Justice Society: World War II finds modern-day Barry Allen – prior to the formation of the Justice League – discovering he can run even faster than he imagined, and that milestone results in his first encounter with the Speed Force. The Flash is promptly launched into the midst of a raging battle – primarily between Nazis and a team of Golden Age DC Super Heroes known as The Justice Society of America. Led by Wonder Woman, the group includes Hourman, Black Canary, Hawkman, Steve Trevor and the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick. The Flash quickly volunteers to assist his fellow heroes in tipping the scales of war in their favor, while the team tries to figure out how to send him home. But it won’t be easy as complications and emotions run deep in this time-skipping World War II thriller.
New images of Robert Pattinson in The Batman have been released timed with today’s DC Fandome. What stands out, to me, is the image with the cowl off but black makeup is still present. Small details people!
Released during DC Fandome, we get a look at some artwork that’s inspiring the upcoming Flash film.
During panels, it was revealed that Bruce Wayne will be developing a new costume for the character which we can see in this art. Also, Ezra Miller‘s Flash will take his name from Grant Gustin‘s CW version of the character after meeting each other during “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” It was also revealed there are more chances of crossovers between films and television series in the future.
Finally, if you look closely at the art, you can see the Batman pictured isn’t Ben Affleck’s take on the character but is Michael Keaton‘s Batman from the 1989 film.
Director Matt Reeves has posted the first look of Robert Pattison as Batman in the now shooting The Batman. The video was shot by the film’s director of photography Greig Fraser with music by the film’s composer Michael Giacchino.
The look is reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s take on the character in his trilogy. The design has a grounded design about it, like hockey equipment meets skating pads meets police armor. We also get a first look at the new Bat-symbol.
The Batman is set to come to theaters on June 25, 2021.
The upcoming release of Superman: Red Son includes the all-new DC Showcase animated short, Phantom Stranger. Warner Bros. has released the first images from Phantom Stranger depicting the two lead characters – the Phantom Stranger (voiced by Peter Serafinowicz of The Tick fame) and the mysterious Seth (voiced by Smallville‘s Michael Rosenbaum).
Phantom Stranger has Bruce Timm at the helm as executive producer & director, and the short is written by Ernie Altbacker.
Set in the 1970s, the short follows young adult Jess as she joins her friends at a party in a dilapidated mansion hosted by the mysterious Seth. When odd things begin to happen to Jess and her friends, the Phantom Stranger intervenes to try and save her from a dreary fate.
In addition to Serafinowicz and Rosenbaum, Phantom Stranger also features the voices of Natalie Lander, Grey Griffin, and Roger Craig Smith.
