Hasbro has released more images for some of their Transformers reveals at this past weekend’s Toy Fair. Check out below for these new Transformers: Robots in Disguise figures.
Earlier this month Hasbro gave fans a chance to vote who the next Transformer to wield the Matrix of Leadership would be. Fans got a chance to vote for Ultra Magnus, Star Saber, Deathasaurus, and Optimus Primal.
The voting was multi-step with fans first choosing the leader of three factions, Chaos, Order, and Honor, and then it was narrowed down to three candidates and one wildcard.
At Toy Fair, Hasbro announced the winner, Optimus Primal.
With this version of Optimus Primal he’s a warlord who dreams of a Cybertron ruled by beasts. In 2018 we’ll see Primal assume the Matrix of Leadership when the “Power of the Primes” story kicks into gear.
Primal was the protagonist leader of the Maximals in the Beast Wars television series. He’s received a few different toy versions and has appeared in comics as well as television series.
It’s unknown exactly how this will impact the current IDW Publishing Transformers series, but toys released often are related to comics being published.
At New York Toy Fair 2017, McFarlane Toys walked us through their booth with products ranging from The Walking Dead, Rick and Morty, Destiny, NFL, One Punch Man, South Park, Steven Universe, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Labyrinth, and more!

Cryptozoic Entertainment and Capcom have announced they are working together to create various collectibles based on the popular Street Fighter video game franchise. The partnership will begin with the release of several lines of figures in 2017: Street Fighter Knockouts, Street Fighter Lil’ Knockouts, and Mighty Meeples: Street Fighter.
Street Fighter Knockouts are 7-inch vinyl figures that feature some of the powerful women from the video game series. Packaged in display-worthy window box packaging, Series 1 includes Chun-Li, Cammy, and Sakura. Designed by Pedro Astudillo and sculpted by Anders Ehrenborg.
Street Fighter Lil Knockouts are 2.75-inch figures that come in collectible blind-reveal tins. Series 1 includes fan-favorite Street Fighter characters Ryu, Blanka, and Chun-Li and consists of ten unique figures plus two rare variant Chase figures.
Mighty Meeples: Street Fighter are 1-inch wooden figures that feature Street Fighter characters and can be collected for display or can replace pieces in any board game to upgrade the experience. First appearing over 15 years ago, the “meeple”—short for “my people”—possesses a distinctive shape that has made it a popular choice for player pieces in a variety of games.
Capcom’s Street Fighter video game franchise launched in arcades in 1987 and immediately made its mark, as players took on the challenge of battling through an international martial arts tournament. The second game in the series, 1991’s Street Fighter II, became a worldwide phenomenon, with gameplay and design elements that revolutionized the fighting game genre. Chief among these was the ability of players to choose from a diverse group of characters, each with a unique fighting style and a different country of origin. The numerous updates and sequels in the series have continued to be hugely popular, including the most recent release, 2016’s Street Fighter V.
The various new lines of Street Fighter collectibles will be released in stores worldwide later in 2017.
