DC Comics has released some details on writer Geoff Johns‘ final Green Lantern issue. For nearly a decade, #1 New York Times best-selling writer Johns has been telling unforgettable stories that have forever changed the Green Lantern universe.

This spring, Johns’ acclaimed run on Green Lantern comes to an epic conclusion with the release of Green Lantern #20. This special oversized issue will feature a sweeping 66-page story, including 55 pages of art by series artist Doug Mahnke and special guest appearances by fan-favorite artists Ethan Van Sciver, Ivan Reis, Patrick Gleason, Cully Hamner, Aaron Kuder, Jerry Ordway, and more! Plus, DC has promised that the final four story pages will make your head explode!

In a discussion with DC’s The Source, Johns said:

I’m extremely grateful for being able to conclude our run on Green Lantern with this monster of an issue. I’m moving on feeling very proud of what my creative collaborators and I have done over the years with the Green Lantern universe. Thanks to all the readers out there who’ve been with us for this adventure. I can’t wait until #20 is in your hands — the last several pages in particular.

Green Lantern #20, in stores May 22, will also include a look back and farewell from Johns, as he reminisces on his extraordinary work from the last nine years.
