Paizo has announced that Archon Studio will be taking over the license for Starfinder Masterclass miniatures, formerly produced by Ninja Division. As part of the agreement, Archon Studio will fulfill backer rewards for the Starfinder Masterclass Miniatures Kickstarter.
Archon Studio will be producing plastic miniatures instead of resin. They will also be starting over with Kickstarter fulfillment; this means that backers who have already received resin miniatures from Ninja Division will receive those minis again from Archon Studio, this time in plastic.
Archon Studio will also be creating all-new Starfinder Masterclass miniatures. Each month, they plan to produce 4 or 5 of the minis announced during the Kickstarter plus 1 brand-new mini. These minis will be available for sale at your favorite local game store, on archon-studio.com, and on paizo.com. (The Kickstarter-exclusive miniatures of Candy, Cola, Seelah the Paladin, and Epic Obazaya will not be available at retail.)
Archon Studio plans to ship Kickstarter rewards in waves. Approximately every 6 months, the pledge rewards produced during the previous 6 months will be shipped to backers free of charge. Additionally, any time a Kickstarter backer purchases any Starfinder mini from Archon Studio—whether that’s a new mini or a duplicate of a Kickstarter mini—they will also ship any released Kickstarter miniatures due to that backer for no additional charge. Details of which minis are shipping when, and how to purchase other miniatures, will be posted on the Kickstarter page.
Archon Studio will be fulfilling backers in Europe, and Ninja Division will be shipping to the rest of the world. Paizo does not have specific answers to fulfillment questions: if you’re a backer with a question about your order, you’ll need to post the question to the Starfinder Masterclass Kickstarter page.
Paizo will begin weekly live streaming Pathfinder and Starfinder news and entertainment on Fridays at 4 PM Pacific on Twitch.
The inaugural episode on Friday, March 30 will feature Paizo’s Director of Game Design, Jason Bulmahn, who will answer questions about the Pathfinder Playtest. Fans can join in the discussion and hear the latest news coming from the design team.
In future live episodes, the channel will expand to include gameplay, interviews, seminars and interactive events.

Paizo Inc. has announced the development of the new Starfinder Roleplaying Game with the Starfinder Core Rulebook slated for an August 2017 release. Paizo is mostly known for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
Set thousands of years in Pathfinder’s future, the Starfinder RPG will be a stand-alone science fantasy game evolved from the Pathfinder RPG rules in which players take on the role of a rag-tag starship crew exploring the countless mysteries of a weird universe. Starfinder’s offerings will include a new monthly Starfinder Adventure Path product line as well as accessories for players and Game Masters.
Starfinder is set in the solar system of Pathfinder’s home world of Golarion, but far in a possible future—one in which the gods have mysteriously spirited Golarion away to an unknown location, and refuse to answer questions about it. In its place, the cultures of that world have evolved and spread throughout the solar system, especially to a vast space platform called Absalom Station. Gifted access to a hyperspace dimension by an ascended AI deity, the residents of the system suddenly find themselves with the ability to travel faster than light, and the race is on to explore and colonize potentially millions of worlds. But there are horrors out there in the darkness.
The Starfinder line launches at Gen Con 2017 with the release of the 500-page Starfinder Core Rulebook, several player and Game Master accessories, and the inaugural volume of the monthly Starfinder Adventure Path line, which includes epic campaign adventures, new planets to explore, starship and player character options, as well as new monsters and aliens to battle.
Starfinder is also designed to integrate easily with the Pathfinder RPG, allowing players of either game to port over monsters, items, and adventures with a minimal conversion effort.
Starfinder was among a slew of announcements made at this year’s PaizoCon, an annual gathering of Pathfinder fans held in Seattle. Other releases coming soon to the world of Pathfinder include:
In further news, Pathfinder Society, the world’s largest tabletop organized play program, announced Season 8 of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Guild, Year of the Stolen Storm, and also the new season of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild, Season of the Goblin. Both will kick off at Gen Con 2016. Pathfinder Society also announced the creation of Pathfinder Society Academy, a new program at introducing roleplaying games to younger players.
Gen Con has agreed to a new three-year contract with game company Paizo Inc, extending their Co-Sponsorship which began in 2013. This new agreement will extend through Gen Con 2018. At Gen Con 2016, Paizo will have a large Exhibit Hall presence, increased on-site branding and marketing, and will continue hosting hundreds of Pathfinder Role Playing Game events in its dedicated space in the Indiana Convention Center’s Sagamore Ballroom.
Launched at Gen Con 2009, Paizo’s Pathfinder RPG has become a phenomenon, capturing the attention of passionate gamers from around the world. Now, having won more than 50 major awards, Paizo has become one of the most influential companies in the hobby game industry.
Gen Con 2016 will take place Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Last year, Gen Con set an attendance record with more than 61,000 unique attendees. With attendees from all 50 states, every Canadian province, and more than 54 countries, Gen Con is an international destination for gaming. Badges currently are available.
