DRS is Publishing Demonheart – The First Major Adventure for Daggerheart!

Demonheart - The Vile Codex for Daggerheart

Dream Realm Storytellers (DRS), known for their immersive 5E worlds (Svilland, Bloodpunk, Corpus Collection, and Silverplate) has announced their newest project, Demonheart – The Vile Codex for Daggerheart. Demonheart is a 3-book codex with over 450 pages, a new class, 7 new domains, 66 new subclasses, a Hellish setting, a full adventure, and more for Daggerheart.

This project marks DRS’ first descent into Daggerheart, a system originally created by Critical Role. It will include the first major adventure ever written for the Daggerheart system, and embraces an edgy, unflinching plunge into a biblical Hell that is very dark and very gory. Players descend into a brutal infernal metropolis of torture, execution gardens, and endless chains, taking on the roles of the damned themselves. With subclasses inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins and a new Sin Domain mechanic, Demonheart challenges players to face demonic legions and terrifying tyrants as they ascend the ladders of damnation.

Demonheart embraces themes of corruption and damnation, pushing players toward uncomfortable, high-stakes choices. It will include unusual mechanics, like instructions for turning player characters into demons, for example. Centered on narrative play, Demonheart’s story evolves through the choices players make. Players actively shape the tone of the game by building Hope or inviting Fear, turning every roll into a meaningful story.

Highlights include:

  • Three books, each 150 pages
  • Demonheart supplement book for new mechanics
  • Demonheart setting book with descriptions of Hell and its inhabitants
  • New Daggerheart content
  • Unusual Mechanics
  • Dark Themes
  • Narrative Depth

Demonheart – The Vile Codex for Daggerheart will be launching on Kickstarter on April 21, 2026, with exclusive early backer rewards and limited-edition goodies that fans won’t want to miss.

Pirate Borg Sets Sail with Down Among the Dead Expansion and Starter Set, Now Available

Free League Publishing and Limithron have launched the Down Among the Dead expansion for Pirate Borg, alongside the Pirate Borg Starter Set and Gamemaster Screen, bringing new adventures and tools to the scurvy-ridden tabletop RPG. The new range is now available for purchase in the Free League webshop and in hobby stores worldwide. Digital copies are also for sale through DriveThruRPG.

Pirate Borg sends players on a terrible journey across the high seas, as they raid, pillage, and plunder their way toward infamy. The newly released Down Among the Dead expansion presents three full-length adventures across 148 pages, introducing terrifying challenges, new discoveries, and untold booty for daring crews to claim.

For those new to the life of a pirate, the Pirate Borg Starter Set provides an accessible entry point to the rules-light RPG. The set includes a Player’s Guidebook, the deluxe Trapped in the Tropics adventure, and a full collection of accessories designed to get players sailing quickly into the cutthroat world of Pirate Borg.

The tabletop experience can also be enhanced with the official Gamemaster Screen—a five-panel screen that folds down to A5 size, featuring original artwork, glow-in-the-dark elements, and quick reference materials to support play during campaigns.

Designed by Limithron and published under Free League, Pirate Borg is a scurvy-ridden, rules-light, and art-heavy tabletop RPG, inspired by history, fantasy, horror, and rum.

In true pirate fashion, players take on the role of greedy, filthy scoundrels sailing the high seas in search of treasure. Beginning with humble resources, pirate crews must acquire a ship, recruit companions, and raid ports, forts, and rival vessels to make a name for themselves.

As each campaign unfolds, players can upgrade vessels, uncover hidden treasure, and grow in notoriety—though danger lurks everywhere beneath the waves. With monstrous threats and deadly encounters awaiting at every turn, fallen pirates are encouraged to roll up new characters and chart a fresh course.

Pirate Borg includes a 166-page core book featuring eight character classes, easy-to-learn naval combat rules, stats for 18 vessels, more than 80 NPCs and monsters, 90+ system-agnostic tables, and the sandbox adventure The Curse of Skeleton Point, spanning 11 pirate-themed locations.

PEACEFUL REMISSION HC

WRITTEN BY JONATHAN DJOB NKONDO
ART BY JONATHAN DJOB NKONDO

Set in a sleek satellite home orbiting Earth, Peaceful Remission follows elderly couple Marlène and Jerry Nomo, whose quiet life is disrupted by a mysterious nighttime rumble. But the real tension lies not in the noise but in Marlène’s simmering frustration with Jerry’s passivity. The incident becomes a catalyst for emotional confrontation, revealing the cracks in their long-standing relationship. When Jerry’s obsession with a recent discovery leaves Marlene responsible for his health and well-being, their seemingly ordinary tasks—shopping, driving, caregiving—are refracted through a surreal, futuristic lens, emphasizing the emotional weight of routine and the quiet heroism of unspoken love.

Encapsulating themes of conjugal fatigue, silent devotion, and the illusion of tranquility, this surreal, contemplative work is told through clean, futuristic interiors contrasted with intimate character framing. In this fragmented yet lyrical tale that alternates between dialogue and silent observation, Jonathan Nkondo uses the sterile calm of space as a metaphor for emotional distance, crafting a story that feels both timeless and eerily current.

SILENT JENNY HC

WRITTEN BY MATHIEU BABLET
ART BY MATHIEU BABLET

In a not-too-distant future, climate change continues to ravage the planet, and the disappearance of insects has led to the end of pollination, rendering vast areas of land infertile. A survival dynamic has emerged—mobile islands called “monads” have formed, and people strive to help each other; each group with its own customs, traditions, and ways of life.

Jenny is a rather solitary researcher trying to restore the world as it once was. She seeks to recover bee DNA to clone and re-create pollinating insects. However, she will come to realize that this is impossible—the old world no longer exists, and a new one must be built. She will understand that instead of looking to the past, she must work collectively with other monad tribes, prioritizing mutual aid and collaboration.

Created by multiple-award-winning comics wunderkind Mathieu Bablet, SILENT JENNY is, at its heart, a “world-building book”— inventing vehicles, character factions, landscapes, and crafting this universe down to the smallest detail to make it as tangible as possible. An optimistic story that presents solutions to climate change—no eco-anxiety, just hope and innovation.

WANDERING HC

WRITTEN BY JONATHAN DJOB NKONDO
ART BY JONATHAN DJOB NKONDO

Set in a world where the surface has become a vast, arid desert dotted with strange geometric creatures and billabongs, Wandering imagines a society that has retreated underground. Beneath the scorched crust, life continues in sprawling subterranean complexes—theaters, malls, food courts, and highway interchanges—forming a claustrophobic echo of the world above.

Graphic novelist Jonathan Nkondo weaves a visionary story following the wandering paths of two men, each shaped by their respective environments—one in the arid wastelands above, and one in the urban sprawl below the surface. Though they never meet, their lives mirror and resonate with each other, creating a haunting sense of synchronicity and missed connection.

Themes of alienation, routine, freedom, and the trappings of modern life turn this textless, nonlinear, and atmospheric graphic novel into an unsettling contemplation of the trappings we chose to surround ourselves with.

ON MARS SC

WRITTEN BY SYLVAIN RUNBERG
ART BY GRUN

In 2132, Life on Earth has reached the limits of sustainability. Colonizing Mars has become our only option, and the construction of such a significant enterprise has required massive resources and manpower. The most cost-efficient solution to this requirement is conscripted labor provided by convicted felons – early access to humanity’s future homeworld, but in exchange for the back-breaking and perilous work of constructing the damn thing.

Officer Jasmine Stenford is sent to Mars and sentenced to conscripted labor for a wrongful death committed on her watch. With little defense against the corruption on Earth, she has no idea what sort of nightmare awaits her on the red planet… Brilliantly visualized by artist Grun, this explosive sci-fi prison drama by writer Sylvain Runberg introduces Jasmine to a broad spectrum of characters, factions, and political players who all have different ideas for this New World that is being built. Who is really in control? And can anyone truly claim a planet on the verge of forced evolution? ON MARS imagines a future where the true natures of mankind prove to be inescapable, no matter how far you travel.

ART BY JOEL DOS REIS VIEGAS

In far-future Neopolis, a virus has affected the entire population from birth. All sexual relations between genders are strictly forbidden, as they are absolutely fatal. At the crossroads of genres, blending numerous graphic and scriptwriting influences, this sci-fi adventure by animation director Joël Dos Reis Viegas paints a picture of a society on the verge of implosion, haunted by death, structured by fear, indoctrination, and the deprivation of the most fundamental freedom: the freedom to love who you choose.
