Announced in November, Marvel has released a trailer for Avengers Mech Strike #1.

A brand-new enemy has emerged in the Marvel Universe and even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are no match against it. But the Avengers aren’t so easily beaten, and when new threats arise, powerful new tools must be brought to bear! Suiting up in high-tech individualized armor, the Avengers stand ready for one of their greatest battles yet in the extraordinary new comic series, Avengers Mech Strike!

Written by Jed MacKay with art by Carlos Magno, Avengers Mech Strike will kick off a bold new age of action-packed Avengers battles that will send shockwaves throughout the comic book industry and beyond! Uniting against an unstoppable enemy, Avengers Mech Strike #1 is just the beginning of this epic story that will unfold throughout next year!

Celebrate Free Comic Book Day 2021 Slated on August 14

Free Comic Book Day 2021

Diamond Comic Distributors has announced that Free Comic Book Day (FCBD), one of the comic book industry’s most beloved and anticipated celebrations, will once again be a single-day event, scheduled to take place Saturday, August 14, 2021. The event, which traditionally takes place on the first Saturday in May, will be celebrated in August 2021 in the hopes that much of the uncertainty and disruption related to COVID-19 will have passed.

This celebration marks the 20th anniversary of Free Comic Book Day and plans to commemorate this anniversary include themed t-shirts, posters, and a commemorative 20th-anniversary logo.

Free Comic Book Day 2021 will feature up to fifty free titles available at participating local comic shops. The titles will be comprised of up to twelve gold and thirty-five silver sponsor titles. Titles will be announced to the public in March and will appear in the April 2021 edition of the PREVIEWS catalog.

Bad Idea is Taking Their Marketing Directly to Stores’ Top Customers

There be whales! Bad Idea has another good idea in how it’s selling it’s soon to be launching line of comics. The comic publisher is calling on each of its 154 retailers to send them their top five clients.

Bad Idea’s plan is to then send an individually personalized, hand-scripted invitation to the launch of Bad Idea on March 3, 2021.

Pre-ordering with a Bad Idea destination store is the only way to guarantee that you can get Bad Idea’s comics each time a new one drops. This means that the best option to preserve your elevated status as one of the most elite comic shop subscribers in your zip code will be to a) accept Bad Idea’s gracious invitation, then b) pre-order the whole Bad Idea line before other comics fans even have the good sense to know what is happening, and, finally, c) constantly mention to your friends and family that you’re a comic shop whale and nothing they say or do can ever change that.

Coming soon from Bad Idea are ENIAC, Tankers, Whalesville, The Lot, and Slay Bells. The first launches in March 2021.

Home Sick Pilots Drops a Trailer Before its December Release

Image Comics has revealed an electric new video trailer to get fans excited about the upcoming new series launch Home Sick Pilots by Dan Watters and Caspar Wijngaard. 

This highly anticipated upcoming horror series is best described as The Haunting of Hill House meets Paper Girls and promises a fresh, day-glo drenched story of terror for readers this December.

In the summer of 1994, a haunted house walks across California. Inside is Ami, lead singer of a high school punk band—who’s been missing for weeks. How did she get there, and what do these ghosts want? Expect three-chord songs and big bloody action in the forthcoming Home Sick Pilots. 

Home Sick Pilots #1 (Diamond Code OCT200017) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, December 9. 

Christopher Priest Talks about the Complexity and Relevance of U.S.Agent
