Mohawk Media Taps Herb Trimpe’s Eco Warrior

eco-comicsEco Comics has announced the launch of a new character drawn by the late, legendary artist Herb Trimpe. There’s a new huge, green behemoth coming to comics in the form of Trimpe’s Eco Warrior.

Writer Chris Bunting worked with Trimpe before Trimpe’s passing in 2015 to bring this character and project to life. The two worked closely over a long period to create a classic-style comic book hero facing 21st Century climate change. Eco Warrior was perhaps the final character created by the artist who died on 13th April 2015.

The character is driven to protect the Earth’s endangered environment and eco system, bringing him into conflict with corporations and vested interests who hold the resources to allow them to battle him head on.

The publisher said in the release:

Like many of Herb’s finest characters, Eco Warrior is full of pathos and Greek-style tragedy. By sucking pollution from the atmosphere to fuel Eco Warrior’s godly strength, eventually it could all be removed and Earth saved, thereby sacrificing himself.

Eco Warrior is set to play a pivotal role in many other titles by Eco Comics before featuring in his own, a tribute entitled Herb Trimpe’s Eco Warrior, including art by Trimpe himself.

Eco Comics Grows Green Man

Eco Comics has announced the launch of a comic book series featuring one of the most iconic and prolific characters from myth and legend, the Green Man. For over a millennium carvings of the Green Man have spread throughout churches, abbeys and cathedrals across the UK and Europe, and can also be found in the USA and Canada.

The publisher says:

Green Man has come to represent the environmental movement and our endangered eco-system, and so has more relevance now than ever. It is therefore fitting that his comic book debut will be entirely paperless and published by Eco Comics.

Eco Comics has released the first issue exclusively on a variety of digital formats in order to have minimal negative impact on the environment and wildlife.

Green Man #1 is by the British team of writer Chris Bunting and artist John-Paul Howard.

Frankenstein joins cast of Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde

Publisher Mohawk Media has announced that Frankenstein, is to star in its comic book series, Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde.

The series has already seen surprise guest stars, including the comeback of Robin Hood’s original love interest, Clorinda, and the historical archetype of all vampires, Dracula the Impaler.

British writer Chris Bunting says:

Frankenstein’s Monster will play a pivotal role, not just in this series, but in a subplot bubbling away that will encompass many other titles from Eco Comics. You will see Frankenstein in a way never portrayed. And this monster is not this issue’s only legendary guest star, as a colossal character from the Robin Hood myth is also introduced.

Frankenstein will first appear in Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde #3.

Publisher Mohawk Media has launched its Mr. T series through its range of environmentally-friendly, paperless Eco Comics.

Mr. T joins other famous names at Eco Comics including Dracula, Robin Hood, Dick Turpin, and Tough Guy.

The Hollywood hard man, renowned for his image of Mohawk haircut, gold chains and catchphrases, previously appeared in print in the publisher’s graphic novels.

Comic book publisher Mohawk Media has released news and a teaser image of their upcoming comic covering the adventures of Tough Guy.  The series will be written by Chris Bunting and art provided by Steve Beckett.  The British publisher is best known for their graphic novels based on Mr. T.

THE TOUGH GETS GOING WITH MOHAWK MEDIA

Publisher Mohawk Media has today released a teaser image following its acquisition of the license to produce original adventures of Tough Guy.

Tough Guy, the British publisher’s first title since the top-selling official Mr. T graphic novels, is written by Chris Bunting (Mr. T; Action Man) and illustrated by Steve Beckett (Beano Annual; General Jumbo).

Bunting describes Tough Guy as a “real throwback action hero, a punch in the eye of two major opponents: terrorism and rampant political correctness. He’s A-Team meets Bond and Indiana Jones, with the hard edge of Dirty Harry.”

Bunting continues: “Boys, both young and middle-aged, are bound to identity with Tough Guy, as he’s anything but yet another bland, demasculinised hero.”
