Skybound and Image Comics have shared a first look at Capes #7, from writer Benito Cereno and artist Mark Englert. The issue marks the start of an all-new story arc that takes Capes in directions you never expected. Picking up the threads of the original series, Capes #7 brings the fan favorite superhero drama back with a fresh chapter, reintroducing readers to their favorite characters from Capes, Inc. Capes #7 will hit comic book shops on May 27, 2026. 

Benito Cereno and Mark Englert introduce the biggest mission in Capes history! With Invincible off-planet fighting the Viltrumite War and the new Guardians of the Globe battling The Order, now’s the time for Capes, Inc to become the face of superpowered crime-fighting. But has Bolt already made the one mistake that could doom Capes?  

Plus, the first appearance of Ella Mental, an all-new Invincible Universe character from the soon-to-be hit Invincible VS game, in the first chapter of new backup stories by Invincible creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, alongside colorist Annalisa Leoni! 

Capes #7 features a lineup of covers including a main cover by Mark Englert, an Ella Mental-centric cover by Cory Walker and Patricio Delpeche, and additional open-to-order covers by Conor Hughes, Gleb Melnikov, Dike Ruan, and Sanford Greene.
