Star Wars: Poe Dameron in April

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens tearing up the box office, comics based on the film have been absent, despite Marvel’s consistently strong performing comic line based in that world. The four issue miniseries Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Shattered Empire helped bridge the gap between Episode VI and Episode VII, but no comics have featured the brand new characters of the hit film (unless you count Poe Dameron as a child).

Since it was Poe Dameron’s parents that were the focus of Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Shattered Empire, it should be no surprise that Poe will get the first spotlight comic treatment in Star Wars: Poe Dameron being written by Charles Soule and drawn by Phil Noto.

The comic will dig in to Poe’s status as the top X-Wing pilot. A new nemesis from the First Order is introduced as the evil organization continues to look for Luke Skywalker. Soule has said that the fact Poe grew up within the Rebel Alliance will be explored in the series and that we’ll meet new X-Wing pilots as the world of Episode VII is explored more.

Not to be left alone, another star of The Force Awakens will be joining Poe, BB-8.

Now, where’s that Rey comic?
