Support – Unhappy White Girls

We’ve highlighted Reading With Pictures, which used Kickstarter to raise money to get the charity up and running.  Love Buzz creator (and someone we consider a friend of the site) Len Wallace over the weekend pointed out some folks who are using it to raise funds to release their graphic novel Unhappy White Girls.

Created by Christian Beranek, Triska Tsang and Vivian Lee, Unhappy White Girls is a story about:

…a day in the life of Tish and Branna, two teenage girls who live in Nowhere, New Mexico. From skipping school, to shoplifting at the mall, to a rich girl’s party — Tish and Branna will have their friendship tested.  And over the course of this crazy day, secrets they are both hiding will be revealed.

The money raised through Kickstarter will go towards artist and lettering fees, printing, shipping of product and promotion.  There’s different levels of support where you can receive everything from behind the scenes making of information to signed copies and thank you’s in the book itself.

As of 10:45pm Sunday night they have raised $1725 of their $6000 goal from 53 individuals.  The fundraising drive is going until 4:58pm on Tuesday June 15.

We encourage you to go to their Kickstarter page and donate today, $5 goes a long way.
