Steven Grant and Vince Giarrano’s Badlands Returns

Dark Horse will present a new edition of Steven Grant and Vince Giarrano’s Badlands! Originally published in 1992 and long out of print, this second edition features a brand new cover by Tim Bradstreet.

Badlands is a fictional crime drama that depicts the events leading up to the assassination of JFK and examines the longstanding question—was there a second shooter?

Conrad “Connie” Bremen is an ex-con carrying the stench of a sordid, secret past. Connie just wants to get on with his life, but he’s attracting the attention of all the wrong people: the mob, the CIA, and the FBI, just to name a few. They all have plans for Connie, whether he likes it or not—and some of those plans include the murder of a president. For Connie Bremen, the road to Dallas begins and ends here, in the Badlands.

The new edition of Badlands goes on sale March 14, 2018.

Review: The Rook Volume 1 TPB

The Rook is back! Bill DuBay’s time-traveling adventure comic returns, penned and illustrated by comics masters Steven Grant and Paul Gulacy! Restin Dane is ready for action—anyplace, anytime!

Writer Steven Grant‘s The Rook is a solid mix of action and sci-fi. Along with that it’s an interesting view of the origins of  H.G. Well’s The Time Machine. While not the most traditional idea of time travel, it is an intriguing read. The cliffhanger ending makes one wonder what will happen next.

The art work by Paul Gulacy is elegant as it manages to blend post-apocalyptic environments, modern times, and Victorian England. It does that along with bringing a subtle element of steam-punk, and historical figures. I will admit the appearance of the Morlocks is creepy, and monstrous.
