Sideshow Collectibles has debuted the Ralph McQuarrie Stormtrooper Statue ‐ Concept Artist Series. The statue is inspired by Ralph McQuarrie’s pre-production artwork for Star Wars: A New Hope.

It’s expertly crafted in 1:5th scale, the soldier of the Empire is depicted patrolling a corridor of the Death Star. You’re able to display with switch out Lightsaber or blaster hand, the figure is fitted with a distinctive helmet and armor .

The first in Sideshow’s Ralph McQuarrie Concept Artist Series, the Stormtrooper will soon be joinged by Boba Fett and the Lord of the Sith himself – Darth Vader.

Sideshow Collectibles Debuts a Sabretooth Premium Format Figure

Sideshow Collectibles has debuted a Sabretooth Classic Premium Format Figure. Ruthless super villain and notorious ‘Weapon X’ project, Victor Creed is embracing his primal instincts in this new statue.

Sabretooth has his fangs bared in a vicious sneer, and muscles rippling under his classic furtrimmed brown and gold costume while crouched over a snow-covered slab of arctic terrain. He’s clearly posed in anticipation of his next clash with longtime rival, Wolverine.

There are two versions, one with his mouth closed sneering and an exclusive version which includes an additional swap-out head with open mouth.

Sideshow Collectibles Debuts Spider-Man ‘Symbiote Costume’ Statue

Sideshow Collectibles has today debuted the Marvel Spider-Man Symbiote Costume Marvel Premium Format Figure.

The statue will be released in the third quarter of 2016 and features Spider-Man bonded in his infamous black costume bonded with the alien Symiote.

The cold-blooded killer of Crystal Lake is on the loose once again wearing his signature hockey mask and wielding a blood-soaked machete. The figure is displayed on a base decorated with effigies of his teenage victims hidden among gnarled branches.

This exclusive version includes, additional swap-out unmasked portrait and swap-out right hand with Harpoon gun.

Diamond Select Toys Re-Launches Marvel Comics Statue Line

After a seven-year break, Diamond Select Toys has announced that they are re-launching their Marvel Comics resin statue line. The Marvel Premier Collection, a line of high-end statues that completed its original run in 2008, will return in early 2016, and will spotlight the many stars of the Marvel Universe through regular releases. Additionally, DST’s Femme Fatales line of PVC statues will introduce an all-new series, focusing on Marvel’s many powerful female characters, with a male-focused PVC statue line to follow.

Both the Marvel Premier Collection and the Marvel Femme Fatales lines will operate under the auspices of DST’s new Art Director, Clayburn Moore. The original sculptor of the Marvel Premier Collection when it began in 2004, Moore himself will handle lead sculpting duties on the revived line, and will oversee development on the Femme Fatales series, working with some of the top sculptors in the industry.

The first Premier Collection piece, recently on display at Comic-Con International in San Diego, will feature Wolverine, stalking through a snowy landscape in his classic brown costume; he will be followed by a statue of the classic Thor, and then Gamora, of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Femme Fatales line will start off with modern heroines such as Captain Marvel, Spider-Gwen and the new Thor, all in a 9-inch scale. They will eventually be joined by a companion line of male Marvel characters, including the Hulk and Spider-Man.

SDCC 2015: Metal Gear Exclusive figure by Gecco

Gecco Corp. has revealed their exclusive figure for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. At this year’s convention, you’ll be able to pick up the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes “Jamais Vu”/Raiden 1/6 Scale Statue, White Armor Variant.

In contrast to the familiar clean shiny black armor of MGRR Raiden, this exclusive white version tells the story of his fierce battles, highlighting his damaged armor.

His usual weapons, the blades and scabbards, are changed to the giant rocket launcher on his back and the assault rifle in his right hand. The assault rifle can be displayed with or without the suppressor.

The base features sandbags piled high and a fallen sign, representing a classic stage of the video game.
The eye glows red with a mounted LED in the head. The effect of “Augment Mode” is added on the visor.

“Jamus VU” is the extra mission unlocked only after clearing the main story of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Raiden got called in to eliminate the mysterious bioroids known as “Snatchers” that had infiltrated the base by killing people and stealing their identities. The White Armor can be gained after completing this mission on normal difficulty.

Review: The Riddler and The Joker 1966 TV Series Busts from Diamond Select Toys

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing some amazing products from Diamond Select Toys. The ones that I reviewed were the Riddler and Joker busts in the Batman ’66 line, featuring spot-on resemblances of Frank Gorshin and Cesar Romero respectively. Both busts measure 6” tall and they are designed by Barry Bradfield and sculpted by Jean St. Jean.

The next releases in these lines will be Penguin and Catwoman, and from the images that I have seen of the upcoming busts, they look absolutely stellar! But it is very difficult to really get a good idea of how a busts will really look until you get to investigate them very closely.

The bases of the Riddler bust and Joker busts are the same, with black buildings and a dark blue sky illuminated by the beaming Bat-Signal. On the bottom of each bust, it is written that these figures are 1 of 3,000 created in total. And in the boxes that contain these busts, you also get certificates of authenticity, verifying the collectable nature of these beautifully sculpted products.

In conclusion, both busts are cut and painted to perfection of how Frank Gorshin and Cesar Romero originally looked on the Batman ’66 TV show. I can’t possibly imagine a better line of busts being created for the Batman ’66 while the show is currently in the midst of such a resurgence in popularity.

Gecco Releases Info on their Berserk/Guts 1/6 scale statue

Gecco has released info about their 1/6 scale statue of Guts, the one-eye and one-armed swordsman from the dark fantasy comic Berserk created by Kentaro Miura. The statue is 1/6 scale and priced at $339.00 and features the character wielding his giant sword that’s almost as big as him! The powerful stance captures the attitude of the character, his giant sword “Dragonslayer” resting on his shoulder. This statue captures the motif of Guts’ fierce battles against the demons in Retribution Arc: Lost Children. His freshly used sword, along with the slain bodies on the base below, create a tense atmosphere.

The revenge story has been adapted into a variety of different media, from TV anime series, to films, trading cards and more. It won the prestigious comics excellence award of 6th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2002.

The statue was sculpted by Shinya Akao with a digital sculpt by Masaki Akao, and painting by Norifumi Dohi.

There are 2 heads included, capturing both “glaring” and “sneering” portraits. “The Brand of Sacrifice” is carved into the back of his neck with all the textures of the gadgets sculpted in exacting detail. Details as subtle as the hidden crossbow in the mantle were sculpted with the greatest of care, making no compromises. The “Apostle Spawn” cruelly slain, liter the base, a far contrast to the adorable “Puck” and “Behelit” hiding inside the swordsman’s pouch helps express the world of Berserk.

The pre-painted statue will be released September 2015.

Dynamite and The Brewing Factory Team Up for Toys and Statues

Dynamite Entertainment is expanding its merchandising program and has announced a partnership with The Brewing Factory, the merchandise development company founded by Georg Brewer. The partnership will grow the Dynamite product line with new three-dimensional categories, most notably collectible statues and toys. The first projects will be a line of female character statues, Women of Dynamite, debuting with a Vampirella statue featuring the iconic comic book heroine and horror hostess (sculpted by Jason Smith and based on the artwork of J. Scott Campbell), and slated for release in June 2015.

Georg Brewer is an award-winning creative and production expert, and former Vice President of Design & Product Development at DC Comics; well known for establishing DC Direct, the successful (and fan-favorite) collectibles business where he led creative development. In 2011, Brewer founded The Brewing Factory LLC, providing a wide range of creative, design, franchise development and brand management consulting services for new and established products and brands.
