Mark Millar and Skelton Crew team up for Huck

Mark Millar and Skelton Crew Studio are excited to announce that they’re bringing Maine’s hometown hero, Huck, to life.

The star of Millar and Rafael Albuquerque’s hit comic series Huck will be available as a limited edition mini-bust this winter.

Huck will stand about 8 inches tall, holding his book of good deeds, perched upon an antique gas pump.

Skelton Crew Brings Andrew MacLean’s Head Lopper to Life

The viking star of Andrew MacLean’s hit Head Lopper is getting the limited edition vinyl treatment.

Skelton Crew Studio and MacLean are excited to announce a Norgal vinyl coming soon.

Norgal will stand a menacing 9″ tall, clad in his armored kilt, gloves and boots. He’ll be articulated at the shoulders and wrists. Norgal will come complete with a map of the island realm of “Barra,” also designed by MacLean, later this fall.

Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s Revival Gets a Mini-Bust from Skelton Crew Studio

Tim Seeley and Mike Norton from Four Star Studios and Skelton Crew Studio have announced a new mini-bust starring Revival’s badass heroine Em Cypress.

Em will stand just over six inches tall, wearing her signature hoodie. She’ll be holding a blood-spattered scythe with a creep clung to her back on a base of pure Wausau snow.

Look for the limited edition resin mini-bust to debut in the fall of 2016.

Comic Book Replicas by Skelton Crew Studio

comic book replicas by skelton crew 1My daughters love plushies. They have loved these things since they were 3 years old. Myself, I love comic books and replicas of comic book items. My house full of comic book themed items I bought from Etsy and conventions throughout the country. This industry started years ago, as something just for children, but along the way, those children became adults, and are still enthralled by these replicas ( including myself) So when I heard that Skelton Crew Studio produces items based on comic book items, including plushies, I wanted to see for myself how close they actually come to the real thing. Founded by Israel Skelton, Skelton Crew Studio makes officially licensed, high quality replicas. It started with keys for IDW‘s Locke and Key and now has included Hellboy and Chew and the always excellent Mouse Guard. Skelton Crew Studio certainly takes their job seriously and the love sure is not lost either, as both are evident in their attention to detail. I opened my package I got from the company in my mail, and found a treasure trove of items. It was like Xmas, and boy, do these guys deliver.

In the first item, I opened up, it was a replica of the Sushi Ono takeout carton, just like from the Chew comics.

Much like what I saw in Hellboy: Seed of Destruction.

Archaia Entertainment and Skelton Crew Studio Announce Line of Mouse Guard Prop Replicas

The Black Axe will rise thanks to Skelton Crew Studio and Archaia Entertainment. The two companies have announced an exclusive license agreement for the studio to create a line of prop replicas based on the Eisner Award-winning Mouse Guard, written and drawn by David Petersen.

The studio plans to release pewter collectibles of swords, shields, and other armament from the Mouse Guard universe. Its first release, the Black Axe, is slated for Christmas 2012.

Mouse Guard is a comic book series, essentially, about mice with swords. An elite group of warriors are charged with protecting their fellow mice from the elements, predators, and other dangers that threaten their existence. Thus far, the series has been collected into two hardcover collections (Mouse Guard Vol. 1: Fall 1152 and Mouse Guard Vol. 2: Winter 1152); an oversized edition (Mouse Guard Vol. 1: Fall 1152 Black and White Edition);an anthology collection (Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard Vol. 1); and a roleplaying game, both in hardcover (for pen and paper) and a deluxe box set. This holiday season, Archaia will release the Mouse Guard Vol. 2: Winter 1152 Black and White Edition and in 2013, Mouse Guard Vol. 3: The Black Axe and Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard Vol. 2.

Skelton Crew Studio, a sculpting house out of Maine, is already the exclusive home of replicas based on IDW’s popular Locke & Key series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. In July, it announced another exclusive license agreement to create replicas from the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning CHEW by John Layman and Rob Guillory, published by Image.

The Mouse Guard Black Axe replica will be available in December 2012 through www.skeltoncrewstudio.com. Other replicas will roll out in 2013 and beyond.
