Netmarble Games Corp. has released a new update for its hit action role-playing game Marvel Future Fight welcoming six of the most popular mutant heroes known as The X-Men — Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Storm, Beast, and Wolverine – and also their infamous enemy Magneto, the Master of Magnetism. Taking on the role of Wolverine, players will fight their way through a new Epic Quest, becoming increasingly powerful until the last quest is completed, at which point they unlock Cyclops, Storm, Beast, and Rogue. This update also introduces new growth materials, such as X-genes, M’kraan Shards, M’kraan Crystals, and Phoenix Feathers that will help these mutant characters grow stronger.
In addition to the X-Men, two new uniforms are also being added for other characters in Marvel Future Fight: A royal suit uniform for the Inhuman known as Crystal and a special unmasked uniform for the fan-favorite Gwenpool.
This update also brings improvements to the Daily Missions format to include chapters instead of stages, allowing players to select from the various chapters to play for certain rewards in order to obtain materials needed. There is also a new system in place called the Contents Status Board that will allow players to check on the status at the main lobby for all the contents that have daily limits at once.

If you’re keeping up with the other happenings in the vast, somewhat convoluted, and complex X-Men universe then you know all about the time jumping, still very much alive, younger, Phoenixless (for now) Jean Grey who is now roaming free with some other time jumping younger self X-Men in the present. If you’re not aware, I’ve pretty much caught you up on the back story behind this latest upgrade/reboot of canon infallible characters and we can continue to go into what works and what doesn’t in this new “reboot” of the classic Jean Grey.
In this debut issue, Dennis Hopeless gives us a look into how the time jacked Jean Grey is dealing with her new life, knowing of her past life that hasn’t happened, and trying to figure out where she belongs. Hopeless does something that most male writers don’t do, he tries to create a real inner dialogue for Jean and give her not only autonomy but complexity. Even her missteps while trying to thwart some super powered bad guys comes off as authentic and real for the character in the situation. There’s also a sense of agency and wonder infused into her thoughts and words. You are aware that she has no idea how to handle any of the things that she’s been thrust into but at no point does Hopeless make her appear weak or lacking.
Victor Ibanez delivers some very nice art to look at. Jean’s face is soft, youthful, uncertain and full of detail. The panels were all a cross between traditional 80’s comics and some nice pop art. The panels that Jean appears in vacillate between making her sharp and in focus when she’s in control and living her life or winning a battle, to having her appear jagged and small when she feels out of control or is losing. It’s these small details that pull you into this comic book. Ibanez’s style in this issue adds tension, creates longing, and in some panels hope which serves the story well and pulls the reader into Jean’s world. Jay David Ramos‘ color palette adds an extra layer to the story, it’s not too bold but, it’s not muted either. Ramos uses colors that you can easily associate with Jean’s mood and actions, the colors just are which work well in the context of the story of a young girl trying to make sense of things. The panels tell the same story as Hopeless’ words, the story of a girl making her own way and add a visual dimension to the story that makes it easy to relate to her situation.
Hopeless’ writing makes Jean feel like a real person and in some ways, gives her more autonomy than her previous versions had. She seems real, not guided by the men around her. She never feels like a damsel in distress, even when she’s fighting the bad guys on her own and, she never stops trying to figure it all out, in her own way on her own terms. Hopeless allows Jean to make mistakes and grow as a person, a mutant, a member of the team and, as a young woman, and even with the suspense of the ominous ending of this premier issue leaving the hairs on the back of my neck standing up, I feel like Jean is in good hands and I look forward to seeing with this arc and this version of Jean goes.

Top Pick: X-Men Gold #3 (Marvel) – This title has been everything I was hoping for and it’s only 3 issues in. I love the line up, love that they’re out being heroes again and they’re out to show that ‘mutant’ isn’t a bad word. Very excited to see this rematch with the Brotherhood and hoping Magma hasn’t switched sides for good.
Jean Grey #1 (Marvel) – I love seeing Jean and the other time displaced X-Men now working with Magneto over in X-Men Blue and I’m more then a little curious to see how a title with only Jean will play out. Of course it’s going to be Phoenix centric, we all knew that. I just hope they explore this Jean Grey a little more deeply and forge something new with her, and not just an eventual host to the Phoenix for things to play out like they have so many times before.
Secret Empire #1 (Marvel) – This is just getting started and I can’t wait for someone to knock Steve Rogers down a peg or two. I have mixed feelings about this event; I absolutely hate what Marvel as let happen to the character and all the back peddling to try and re-imagine Hydra into something we all know it isn’t. But, I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of the heroes are going to band together to knock Hydra flat on its ass. Just hoping this doesn’t fall into the ‘ho hum’ category most of Marvel’s recent events have stumbled into.

Top Pick: Batman And Bill (Hulu) – While you’d usually expect to find a (Valiant) comic in this spot, this week one of the very few things I’m genuinely excited for is the Hulu exclusive documentary about Bill Finger. If you’re a Batman fan and you don’t know who Bill finger is, and what Bob Kane did to him, then be prepared for an emotional story that should make you angry. I’ve been waiting for this for months… May 6th can’t get here fast enough.

Batman #22 (DC Comics) – What an ending of The Flash and Batman #21. Especially who Bruce sees at the end. Right in the feels. I am liking The Button so far and want more!
Superman #22 (DC Comics) – One of my favorite books every time it comes out. The Superman Reborn arc looks to be wild, and this along with Action Comics is even better.
Catalyst Prime Noble #1 (Lion Forge) – A new universe with a diverse cast of heroes and creators. I’ve been hyped for this for awhile!
Secret Empire #1 (Marvel) – Maybe I am a sucker, but I am still excited for this event. I want to see where the heck they go with this crazy story. Please don’t be another CWII.

Top Pick: Jean Grey #1 (Marvel) – I read this one before I consigned it and I like it. It has a male writer but, it isn’t utter crap. It’s well written , plausible , fresh & on point.
Top Pick: Harley Quinn #19 (DC Comics) – The “Deadly Sin” arc is ending and Harley’s about to remind these fools why she’s not the woman to mess with! I’ve got popcorn and, I’m ready !
Hawkeye #6 (Marvel) – This arc keeps turning it up to 11 and I’m all the way here for female mentorship, strength and badassery!

Abirato #1 (Lion Forge) – Rebels taking on corporate powers that control a city and vaccine that allows a lifespan of hundreds of years? Sign me up.
Catalyst Prime Noble #1 (Lion Forge) – A whole new world that’s really thought and featuring diverse characters, diverse voices writing them, and diverse individuals on art. In other words, it’s already ahead of so many others.
Eternal Empire #1 (Image Comics) – Sarah Vaughn and Jonathan Luna team up again, this time for a fantasy series. If you missed their Alex + Ada, you missed out on an amazing series and this one I expect to be just as good.
Youngblood #1 (Image Comics) – I’m looking forward to this, I’ll admit it. I’m fully expecting turn my brain off fun or the reading experience of slowing down to look at a car wreck. Either way….

She needs to level up. She needs to become a prepared Jean Grey by the time the Phoenix arrives. So she puts herself through a lot of things to try to get ready for something she can’t really prepare for. And I think a lot of people can relate to that.

Marvel has been released teases for ResurrXion this week and so far has teased Iceman #1 and Weapon X #1. Today with a new image we now get Jean Grey #1.
Knight Models today revealed the next set of releases for their Batman Miniature Game and Marvel Universe Miniature Game.
For the Batman Miniature Game, the company has already revealed Carrie Kelley and the Sons of Batman and a new Oliver Queen. Today we also finally get to see Joker & Robotic Dolls from Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
The Marvel Universe Miniature Game also gets three new releases. Jean Grey, Emma Frost, and the Hulk!
