Tiny Onion promotes Eric Harburn to Director of Narrative & Editor-in-Chief in an Expansion into Multimedia Entertainment

Eric Harburn

Led by CEO & Founder James Tynion IV, production house Tiny Onion is promoting publishing industry veteran Eric Harburn from Director of Editorial to Director of Narrative & Editor-in-Chief to reflect the production house’s expansion into multimedia entertainment. In addition to the continued management of Tiny Onion’s publishing output of high caliber comics and graphic novels, Harburn will now lead the new Narrative department, representing storytelling across television, film, and games.

Harburn led the development and production of Tiny Onion’s first major comic book project, Tynion and Michael Walsh’s Exquisite Corpses, in collaboration with Image Comics and a “Corpse Crew” of acclaimed horror creators. The series has become a massive success as the highest-selling original IP launch of 2025 in the comic book direct market, selling more than 600,000 copies to date. Exquisite Corpses will be headed to the big screen. Tiny Onion’s robust slate of projects grew to developing two live action feature films with Lyrical Media, with the other one based on the short film Room Service co-created by Tynion, artist Elsa Charretier and director PK Colinet. Harburn has co-edited Exquisite Corpses since day one with fellow Tiny Onion editors Steve Foxe and Greg Lockard; in his new role, he will continue to oversee publishing of the comics as well as supervise storytelling within the world across mediums, including the feature film and the tabletop card game, soon to launch.

Tiny Onion plans to shepherd existing comic properties into multimedia opportunities in the film, television, and game spaces, while also continuing to usher in brand new entries in their publishing slate such as In Your Skin, the newly announced Bollywood body horror comic book series co-created by Aditya Bidikar and Som. The company’s Artists in Residence program, which gives creators a platform to tell their own original stories, includes Bidikar, Eisner Award-winning colorist Jordie Bellaire (Exquisite Corpses), Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things), and GLAAD Award nominee Tate Brombal (Everything Dead & Dying).

A 2023 Publisher’s Weekly “Star Watch” nominee and former Executive Editor at BOOM! Studios, Eric Harburn has spent the past fifteen years as an editor and curator of the industry’s top original series, working on more than ninety unique comic book properties, shepherding countless titles to critical and commercial acclaim. During his time at BOOM! Studios, Harburn and Tynion developed the Eisner Award-winning hit series Something is Killing the Children—co-created by Tynion and artist Werther Dell’Edera—which has sold over two million copies worldwide. It was recently announced that Blumhouse has optioned the series to adapt it both for film and for an animated television series with Tynion attached to produce with BOOM! Studios.

During his tenure at BOOM! Studios, Harburn also edited Tynion’s other works, including GLAAD Media Award winner The Woods, a sci-fi thriller co-created with artist Michael Dialynas. In December, it was announced that Tiny Onion optioned the title for adaptation to kick off the production house’s adult animation slate, which also includes an adaptation of Tynion and Fernando Blanco’s Image Comics series W0rldtr33 at Netflix, and original comedy series Tipsy Dragon. Tiny Onion brought aboard Casey Gonzalez as Director of Multimedia in December to oversee development of The Woods and the company’s animated projects. In addition to The Woods, Harburn edited Tynion and Michael Dialynas’ GLAAD Media Award-nominated young adult fantasy graphic novel series Wynd, and Tynion and Eryk Donovan’s fan-favorite Internet horror series Memetic.

Harburn also worked on Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR, the highest-selling original comic book launch in nearly thirty years, shattering Kickstarter records, and which is in development as a live-action feature film and anime spinoff series. A frequent collaborator with Eisner Award-winning writer Ram V, Harburn is editing the new global graphic novel series Deicidium and edited The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, the Ignatz Award-winning, Eisner, Harvey, and Ringo Award-nominated bestselling series created by V and Filipe Andrade, as well as its lauded spiritual followup Rare Flavours.

ComicsPRO 2026: Tiny Onion Announces New Titles and More

Tiny Onion CEO & Founder James Tynion IV led a presentation at this year’s ComicsPRO Comic Industry Conference to reveal details about the production house’s robust 2026 publishing and media plans. The presentation, which took place last Thursday, included the first reveal of Odin, a new original limited comic book series co-created by Tynion, Marguerite Bennett, and Letizia Cadonici, which is pure Nordic nightmare fuel.

Tynion also announced new Exquisite Corpses comics, including three new limited series about Season One killers Rascal Randy, Fox Mask Killer, and Lone Gunman, penned by Corpse Crew creators Tyler Boss, Che Grayson, and Pornsak Pichetshote. They were a core part of the writing team for Season One of the smash hit horror series and will return as writers for the upcoming Season Two.

Tiny Onion will also produce Exquisite Corpses: Book of the Dead, a one-shot anthology featuring short stories about the other killers from Exquisite Corpses Season One, hitting shelves this Halloween season. Image Comics will be publishing the new Exquisite Corpses comics as well as Odin. Five-time Eisner Award-winner Tynion is teaming up with Bennett, the brilliant bestselling writer of the new Witchblade reimagining and terrifying tale Mommy Blog, for new original horror comic book series, Odin.

Produced by Tiny Onion and in collaboration with Image Comics, Odin will be a nine-issue limited series debuting this May, co-created by rising star artist Cadonici, colored by Eisner Award-winner Jordie Bellaire, lettered by acclaimed artist Tom Napolitano, cleverly designed by Dylan Todd, and edited by horror mastermind Steve FoxeGreen Room meets Midsommar with a touch of The Ritual in this relentless hallucinogenic thriller that leaves absolutely no taboo unbroken.

Odin #1 will be available at comic book stores on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026

Horror masterminds Tynion and Michael Walsh are expanding their Exquisite Corpses battle royale-style realm further with four new titles and more spinning out of the groundbreaking comic book series.

Produced by Tiny Onion and published by Image Comics, Exquisite Corpses was the biggest original IP comic hit of 2025 with over 600k issues sold to date, marking the best debut comic for Tynion in over three years. Now the horror franchise is growing to include three new spin-off comic book limited series and an anthology one-shot in addition to the upcoming second arc, the feature film adaptation, and the soon-to-launch tabletop card game.

In Exquisite Corpses, every five years on Halloween, the wealthiest families in America play a game. 12 of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine, this year’s unlucky arena, the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night. As the 13-issue Season One comes to an epic conclusion in May, more Exquisite Corpses is on the way.

Three new five-issue Exquisite Corpses limited series delve further into the history of fan-favorite killers from Season One. Rascal Randy, Fox Mask Killer, and Lone Gunman will be written by Boss, Grayson, and Pichetshote, respectively.

The first miniseries to debut, Exquisite Corpses:Rascal Randy, will get inside the twisted mind of the bunny mascot costume-wearing serial killer who uses his hands as his weapon of choice. Along with writing by Boss, the series will be illustrated by Dylan Burnett. The limited series will be colored by Eisner Award-winner Jordie Bellaire, and lettered by rising star Becca Carey. Boss and Bellaire are also a part of Tiny Onion’s growing Artists in Residence program, which also includes Tate Brombal and Aditya Bidikar.

Along with the comics, Tiny Onion is launching Exquisite Corpses: The Game, a social strategy battle royale tabletop card game this summer. Tiny Onion’s game website includes instructions on how to play and information about the upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Walsh is no stranger to TCGs; he has illustrated a number of Magic: The Gathering cards. Fans can beta test an early version of the game now with cards either collected from the polybagged Variant C editions of the comics (inclusive of the rare foil cards), as well as Event Cards found at Tiny Onion’s Corpse Tour, or with printables from the website.

As part of the Exquisite Corpses franchise, Lyrical Media and Tiny Onion are developing a feature film adaptation and are currently packaging it with A-list talent. Lyrical Media and Tiny Onion envision adapting the source material for animation and video games in the future. Tynion will produce the feature film for Tiny Onion with Michael Walsh joining as executive producer and Alexander Black and Arlen Konopaki producing for Lyrical Media, with Jon Rosenberg from Lyrical Media as an executive producer. Tynion launched Tiny Onion in 2023 with a seed investment from Lyrical Media, the banner behind upcoming feature films The Death of Robin Hood and Onslaught, to serve as a cross-platform incubator for his original IP.

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1 will be available at comic book stores this July, followed by Fox Mask Killer and Lone Gunman hitting shelves later in 2026.

Tiny Onion Kicks Off a Slate of Adult Animation with The Woods and Brings Casey Gonzalez on as Director of Multimedia

The Woods

Led by CEO James Tynion IV, Tiny Onion is kicking off the production house’s robust adult animation slate with an adaptation of Tynion’s The Woods, based on the award-winning comic book series published by BOOM! Studios. The acclaimed sci-fi horror comics were co-created by Tynion and artist Michael Dialynas. To launch the animation slate, Tiny Onion is bringing aboard Casey Gonzalez as Director of Multimedia to oversee development for the company’s animated projects.

GLAAD Media Award-winning comic book series which debuted in 2014, The Woods tells the story of an ordinary high school in suburban Milwaukee, WI, which is suddenly transported into the midst of an alien forest in an uncharted corner of the universe. With no sign of why they were taken there, or what threats lurk in the dark woods surrounding their school, the story follows a group of students determined to figure out how to survive, and more importantly, how to get home. Tiny Onion has optioned the property from BOOM! Studios. The animated series will see Tynion and Dialynas executive producing for Tiny Onion. Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer will executive produce the series for BOOM! Studios.

The Woods will be Gonzalez’s first project as Director of Multimedia at Tiny Onion since joining the team in December. Previous to Tiny Onion, she spent a decade working alongside animation industry legend Fred Seibert (Adventure Time, Bee and Puppycat) as his VP of Development at FredFilms, where she developed original cartoons, including the viral short The Summoning, which is being adapted into a three book series for Oni Press.

Casey Gonzalez

Gonzalez began her career in publishing, editing bestselling graphic novels for First Second and helping launch the acclaimed Science Comics series while shepherding New York Times bestselling titles such as Eisner Award winner Battling Boy, Hugo Award nominated book The Divine, and Green Book Award winner Coral Reefs. She later transitioned into the role of Head Writer and Producer at Frederator, where she launched the popular anime vertical Get in the Robot, and subsequently at Crunchyroll, the world’s largest anime streaming service. At Tiny Onion, Gonzalez looks forward to uniting her love of comics with her experience shaping top tier shows.

The Woods is a part of an expanding adult animation slate that also includes an animated adaptation of Tynion’s Image Comics horror sci-fi series W0RLDTR33 in development at Netflix. Co-created by Fernando Blanco and colored by multi Eisner Award-winning colorist Jordie Belliare, W0RLDTR33 tells the story of a dark evil within the internet that may destroy humanity. Tynion and Blanco will serve as Executive Producers on the series with Ashley Cardiff (Fear The Walking Dead) set as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Sean Buckelew of Green Street Pictures (Common Side Effects, Scavenger’s Reign) will also serve as Executive Producer and the team has just brought on Guillaume Dousse of Æsten studio (Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, Flee) to lead visual development and art direction for the series.

W0RLDTR33

Additionally, Tiny Onion is developing an adult animated comedy series The Tipsy Dragon with production company Irony Point. The series is being developed by Daniel Powell (Ugly Americans). RJ Fried, Mike Leech, and Zach Smilovitz (Our Cartoon President) are attached to write and help produce. An original concept from Tynion, The Tipsy Dragon is set in a tavern in a world where the age of heroes and legends is long past—and its barkeep and patrons couldn’t care less about their supposed role in an ancient battle between good and evil just outside their doorstep.

Tynion and BOOM! Studios are also teaming up with iconic horror production company Blumhouse for an adult animated television series and a live-action feature film based on Tynion and Werther Dell’Edera’s record breaking, award-winning, and global best-selling series Something is Killing the Children. Set in a world where children can see monsters, but adults cannot, Something is Killing the Children tells the story of Erica Slaughter, a monster hunter from a mysterious organization more concerned with keeping the secret of monsters from the world than saving their victims. The animated series will be adapted and executive produced by Tynion, with Dell’Edera serving as Co-Executive Producer and visual development consultant. Stephen Christy will executive produce the series for BOOM! Studios, with Mette Norkjaer and Adam Yoelin serving as Co-Executive Producer.

Tiny Onion is backed by a seed investment from Lyrical Media, the Los Angeles and New York-based company that develops, produces, and finances unique stories across multi-media formats, including film, television, video games, and graphic novels. It was recently announced that Lyrical Media has launched Lyrical Animation to tap into global demand for adult animation, with an emphasis on animated features. Lyrical Animation is headed by seasoned Animation industry veterans Jacob Robinson, Daniel Dominguez, and Brad Graeber, and has many projects in development including an adaptation of the video game Death Stranding. Tiny Onion will be working closely with Lyrical Animation on its animation slate.
