Exclusive Preview: ARTillery #1

As announced this summer at San Diego Comic Con, Invader Comics are bringing their beloved stable of titles to Lunar Distribution via the Massive Indies program starting in October. To celebrate this renewed commitment to comic shops and retailers, Invader is launching with Jimmie Robinson’s ARTillery #1, which will be the first title to arrive in stores on October 8. It will soon be followed by the collected edition of their hit horror series, Animals, and the over-sized one-shot, Death’s Immortal Hunter, which is described as Hellblazer meets Highlander by way of Something Is Killing The Children.

All human art and creativity comes from an ancient power source, amplified by magical gateways all over the world, but now a sentient AI is closing the gateways in order to control all of the world’s creative arts. As humanity loses the ability to create art, the last gateway brings the Mona Lisa to life so she can form a team of artists to steal the gateway of creativity back from the AI. Three artists are given magical abilities that transform their art into weapons: a graffiti artist, a film FX artist, and a comic book artist. Together they plan an elaborate heist to save the last gateway of creativity. Imagine Now You See Me by way of The Matrix and you’re on the right track.

Veteran writer/artist Jimmie Robinson is no stranger to comic book fans with the runaway success of titles like Bomb Queen, The Empty and Five Weapons for Image Comics. He comes to Invader Comics with a renewed passion for the medium as he enters the next phase in his career, tackling one of the most important issues facing comic creators today. Seemingly a fun, high-stakes heist story on the surface, ARTillery questions the role of art and creativity when it becomes a commodity rather than a calling.

Jimmie Robinson’s ARTillery #1 arrives in stores on Wednesday, October 8, while the Animals TPB and Death’s Immortal Hunter #1 are coming up for FOC (Final Order Cut-off) on Monday, September 29. If you’re looking to check out any of these titles then you need to let your local comic shop retailer know today!

Exclusive: PANICK Entertainment announces a T.A.M.A. #1 Second Printing Before Release, Featuring Two Brand-New Covers

We have the exclusive initial reveal that PANICK Entertainment‘s T.A.M.A. #1, the debut issue of its flagship title, is nearly sold out at the distributor level. Due to overwhelming demand from retailers and customers, a second printing is now underway featuring two brand-new variant covers by legendary designer and illustrator Jim Fletcher, paying homage to the iconic style of classic Pokémon trading cards. In addition, the enormously popular Tony Fleecs Cover B videogame homage variant from the first printing will be re-issued in a gorgeous rainbow foil format, also as a 1:10 incentive cover across both second printing variants. This second printing will be exclusively distributed by the Massive Indies section of the Lunar catalog.

Due to continued demand, PANICK is introducing a special 1:10 rainbow foil reprint of the original Cover B. This limited incentive will be available to retailers who order ten combined copies of the second printing’s Cover A and Cover B, with an MSRP of $20.00. The foil edition celebrates the momentum behind T.A.M.A. and gives fans another chance to own a standout version of the launch that’s generating serious buzz.

Written by Adam Schlagman and Doug Pasko, with interior art by Daniel HDRT.A.M.A. tells the chilling story of Kit, a lonely teen who finds companionship in a mysterious virtual pet device — only to discover it’s connected to a string of gruesome deaths. It’s Pokémon meets Child’s Play, and readers have taken notice.

T.A.M.A. is the kind of series that catches fire because of word of mouth, and clearly, word is spreading fast. We’re beyond grateful to retailers and customers for making our first book such a success, and we assure you that we are just getting started.

-PANICK Publisher and Co-Founder Kris Longo

PANICK’s success with T.A.M.A. is exactly why we created the Massive Indies program — to give independent publishers the tools, infrastructure, and support to break through with bold original series. The impending sell-out and second printing aren’t just a win for PANICK, they’re proof of concept that this partnership works.

-Michael Calero, CEO/Founder of Massive Indies

The second printing will hit shops August 27, 2025, just in time for late-summer conventions and back-to-school buzz. Final order cutoff is July 28, 2025 via Lunar/Massive Indies. Retailers are encouraged to place their reorders quickly, as print runs will be limited.

Chris Mancini’s White Cat Entertainment Joins Massive Indies

Massive Publishing

Chris Mancini’s White Cat Entertainment and Massive Publishing have officially announced a publishing deal for distribution in comic book shops as part of Massive Indies. Mancini let the cat out the bag when announcing White Cat’s San Diego Comic-Con plans. The agreement includes Mancini’s current and future graphic novels. Product is now available for retailers!

The timing also coincides with the leadup Comic-Con event in San Diego, where not only will Mancini and artist Fernando Pinto be signing copies of his books (Small Press Booth O-10) but Massive will be on-site as well, doing a “Massive Indies” activation.

Mancini’s current graphic novels are Long Ago & Far Away, Long Ago and Far Away 2, and Rise of the Kung Fu Dragon Master. At San Diego Comic-Con next month he will be debuting his new book, Alpha Cat, with artist Fernando Pinto.

Massive Indies Expands with New Publishers and Studios

Massive Publishing

Massive Publishing has announced the expansion of its Massive Indies program, now welcoming a new wave of independent publishers and studios into its growing network. This expansion marks a major milestone for the program, which continues to redefine how indie comics reach comic book shops nationwide. While no specific publishers were announced, they will be revealed over the next few weeks with the initial wave being announced in Massive’s July solicitations for on sale in September.

Designed to empower small and midsize publishers, Massive Indies provides direct market access through Massive’s partnership with Lunar Distribution, as well as marketing support—while allowing creators and studios to retain full creative control. With this new phase, Massive reaffirms its commitment to the program and opens its doors to more partners than ever before.

The expanded program comes with a streamlined onboarding process and newly reduced pricing, designed to lower barriers for publishers looking to scale and give relief to publishers impacted by the Diamond Comic Distributor bankruptcy. Applications are now open and the Massive Indies team will be contacting previous applicants who were not part of the initial wave of publishers.

Heavy Metal and Devil’s Due join Massive’s Indie Distribution Partnership with Lunar Distribution

Massive Publishing

In February, Massive Publishing announced a new deal with Lunar Distribution called Massive Indies. Massive Indies is a sub-distribution program aimed at helping independent publishers and self-published studios get their books onto comic shop shelves worldwide. It has been announced that Heavy Metal Magazine and Devil’s Due Studios are the first two publishers to take advantage of this new program.

Heavy Metal recently relaunched with a Kickstarter raising nearly $800,000.

Massive Indies is an open platform for submitting titles for inclusion in the Massive Indies solicitations within the Lunar catalog. Unlike traditional imprint models, this sub-distribution approach enables each publisher or studio to retain its autonomy and control over their publishing lines.

Massive Publishing adds Lunar Distribution and launches new sub-distribution initiative “Massive Indies” for independent publishers and self-published studios!

Massive Publishing

Massive Publishing has announced a new partnership with Lunar Distribution, for the direct market distribution of its titles and imprints, including its premium limited product brand Massive Select. Up until now, Massive’s library of titles was only available to comic shops through its distribution agreement with Diamond Comic Distributors. This new partnership will bring increased visibility to the Massive Publishing brand and expand its presence in the marketplace, while giving retailers more options on how to carry Massive’s upcoming releases and back catalog. Massive Publishing is also available to the book market through its exclusive book market distribution agreement with Simon & Schuster.e.

Part of this strategic partnership with Lunar Distribution is the launch of Massive’s newest initiative, Massive Indies, a sub-distribution program aimed at helping independent publishers and self-published studios get their books onto comic shop shelves worldwide. This will be an open platform for submitting titles for consideration in the Massive Indies solicitations of the Lunar catalog. Unlike the more common imprint model for publishers, this sub-distribution model will allow each publisher/studio to maintain their absolute independence and control over their publishing line. Massive is prioritizing publishers affected by the recent news of Diamond Comic Distributor’s Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filing but sees this as a possible game-changing process for creators to access the direct market without signing deals which compromise their intellectual property rights.

Massive will begin to solicit products through Lunar Distribution starting in February. For publishers and studios interested in submitting to Massive Indies, visit www.massiveindies.com
