Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in!

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this Wednesday.

Batman Who Laughs #4 (DC Comics) – How does the Batman Who Laughs see through that visor? Scott Snyder says we’ll find out here!

Cold Blood Samurai #1 (Action Lab Entertainment) – A feudal Japan with anthropomorphic and samurai animals inspired by Homer’s poem on “War of Mice and Frogs,” Batrachomyomachia. Sure, why not?

Detective Comics #1001 (DC Comics) – The Arkham Knight has arrived!!!

Fairlady #1 (Image Comics) – Fantasy often features war, but what happens when the war is over? This first issue features a complete 30-page story in the issue.

Faithless #1 (BOOM! Studios) – Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet are delivering this new miniseries that’s about sex, the devil, and magic. We’re intrigued enough to check out the first issue.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #5 (Marvel) – Aunt May will finally tell Peter what’s going on in this issue and it’s going to be an emotional one.

Ronin Island #2 (BOOM! Studios) – Writer Greg Pak has been knocking it out of the park and this series which focuses on former enemies having to band together to survive is really good so far.

She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #1 (Dark Horse) – The miniseries continues with a new volume!

Symbiote Spider-Man #1 (Marvel) – Untold tales of Peter’s time with the black suit!

Sweetie #2 (Action Lab Entertainment) – A high school student is a hero but her powers won’t help her make friends. It’s been good so far.

War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery #1 (Marvel) – The War of the Realms has begun and this seems like it’s going to be one of the key tie-ins focused on Thor’s sister!

Web of Venom: Cult of Carnage #1 (Marvel) – Something big is coming having to do with Carnage and Venom and this series will probably be key.

• Spider-Man heads to a part of the Marvel Universe that you’ve never seen before!
• It’s always fun to see Spider-Man out of his element. Well, for YOU, anyway. Spidey doesn’t agree.
• And when “out of his element” is in a place that doesn’t support human life? Uh-oh!

Review: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1

Spider-Man is the worst neighbor EVER! There are always crazy villains and property damage and drama and…and he CATCHES the villains. And he tries to fix the damage and he helps carry your groceries and actually that property damage keeps the rents down. You know what? Spider-Man is the best neighbor ever and this book will give you a closer look at Spider-Man’s (and Peter Parker’s) neighborhood than any book ever. Also, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man adventure without a threat that could destroy not only Spider-Man, but all his neighbors. Superstar writer TOM TAYLOR (X-MEN RED, ALL-NEW WOLVERINE, Injustice) and rising art star JUANN CABAL (ALL-NEW WOLVERINE, X-23) give you the most local Spider-Man ever!
