Heroic Publishing Announces 2013 Schedule

Heroic Publishing has released their publishing plans for 2013. Below you can find their release schedule for the upcoming year. This schedule is tentative and subject to change.

And if you’d like to know more about any of these upcoming comics, just visit their Previews page at www.heroicmultiverse.com/heroicpub/previews

CHAMPIONS

Their flagship superhero title is penciled in as a bimonthly, which means they have six issues on the drawing boards for 2013. And, as a bonus, they’re looking to add a Champions Annual this summer.

Champions #59 will be available in February

Champions #60 is scheduled for April.

Champions #61 is scheduled for June.

Champions Annual #3 is scheduled for July.

Champions #62 is scheduled for August.

Champions #63 is scheduled for October.

Champions #64 is scheduled for December.

CHAMPIONS ADVENTURES

This companion title to CHAMPIONS isn’t just a reprint comic. In addition to classic adventures starring Flare and the League of Champions, they’re mixing in new material with the old. They’re in the process of getting seven issues ready to go in 2013.

Champions Adventures #7 will be available in Feburary.

Champions Adventures #8 is scheduled for April.

Champions Adventures #9 is scheduled for May.

Champions Adventures #10 is scheduled for July.

Champions Adventures #11 is scheduled for August.

Champions Adventures #12 is scheduled for October

Champions Adventures #13 is scheduled for November.

FLARE

Comics’ shining goddess of light is scheduled to return to their own bimonthly magazine in the summer of 2013. Two of her classic artists, Mark Propst and Gordon Purcell, are already working on new story material. But this is still very tentative. The company just doesn’t want to commit to that bimonthly schedule until they know for certain that they’ll be able to sustain it. In any event, in the latter half of the year, look for these issues, and possibly a new Flare Annual.

Flare #41 is scheduled for July.

Flare Annual #4 is scheduled for August.

Flare #42 is scheduled for September

Flare #43 is scheduled for November.

INFINITES

If all goes well, the first nine-issue Infinites story arc will wrap up in 2013, with story by David Thomas and some fabulous artwork by Francesco Gerbino and John Anderson.

Infinites #6 is scheduled for March.

Infinites #7 is scheduled for June.

Infinites #8 is scheduled for September.

Infinites #9 is scheduled for December.

LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS

New issues of the League of Champions resume in spring with a brand-new artist. They’re starting with a quarterly schedule in order to be sure he has time enough to get each issue ready.

League of Champions #15 is scheduled for May.

League of Champions #16 is scheduled for August.

League of Champions #17 is scheduled for November.

LIBERTY GIRL

The Liberty Girl is on tap to return in 2013, just in time for the 4th of July. And they’re hoping this time around to be able to sustain a regular quarterly schedule.

Liberty Girl #5 is scheduled for June.

Liberty Girl #6 is scheduled for September.

Liberty Girl #7 is scheduled for December.

MURCIELAGA SHE-BAT

America’s foremost Hispanic heroine, Daerick Gross’s Murcielaga She-Bat, will be back with four issues in 2013.

Murcielaga She-Bat #14 is scheduled for March.

Murcielaga She-Bat #15 is scheduled for June.

Murcielaga She-Bat #16 is scheduled for September.

Murcielaga She-Bat #17 is scheduled for December.

SENSATIONAL G-GIRL

The G-Girl’s solo title is probably the iffiest book on the schedule. Because people love America’s newest superhero sweetheart, Billi Jayne Jensen, and didn’t want you to have to wait any longer to meet her, they are featuring several sensational G-Girl adventures in the pages of Champions. But the big one on the drawing boards is Sensational G-Girl #1, which they’ll get to you as soon as Mark Beachum has it ready. But don’t plan on seeing it until possibly as late as October.

WITCHGIRLS INC

Also in a holding pattern is the long-awaited “Return of Lady Arcane” story arc. The way things stand now, they’re not going to be able to launch that eight-part adventure until early 2014. But we are going to try to get two issues of WitchGirls Inc into print during 2013.

WitchGirls Inc #11 is scheduled for July.

WitchGirls Inc #12 is scheduled for October.

ADVENTURES OF CHRISSIE CLAUS

And yes, come November, in the pages of Adventures of Chrissie Claus #6, the secret origin of Santa’s li’l elfin granddaughter will at last be revealed.

TRADE PAPERBACKS

Three new collections of classic adventures from Heroic Publishing are on the schedule, with more to follow later in the year.

Flare: Dark Justice will be available in January, featuring her adventures from FLARE #28-35.

Lady Arcane: The Magic Is Alive is scheduled for March, featuring our mistress of magic’s earliest solo adventures.

Eternity Smith: Book 1 is scheduled for May, featuring the original six-issue Eternity Smith story arc.

Flare Returns In 2012

Comics’ shining goddess of light returns in May in the first of an all-new series of comic book adventures!

FLARE #40 is coming hot off the presses! And if you’re not lucky enough to shop at Lone Star Comics in Texas, or at Minneapolis’s Comic Book College, or at Limited Edition Comics in Cedar Falls, Iowa, there’s only one way you’re going to be able to get your hands on this brand-new issue.

Visit the Heroic Publishing website, at www.heroicmultiverse.com, and order your copy of FLARE #40 today!

Retailers, too, can place discounted bulk orders for FLARE #40, as well as for the entire range of Heroic Publishing titles, by registering for an account with the Heroic Distribution webservice, at www.heroicmultiverse.com/heroicdist.

This brand-new, 40th issue of FLARE shines the spotlight on our glittering heroine’s police officer boyfriend, LUCAS MADISON. When Flare’s arch-enemy, naughty NYX, the Olympian goddess of night, decides she wants hunky Lucas for herself, and recruits help from APHRODITE in order to get him, how in the world is a mere mortal ever going to be able to resist the mind-altering potions of the Olympian goddess of love?

This brand-new 40th issue of FLARE also features the return of one of Flare’s classic artist, GORDON PURCELL. Gordon was the artist who defined Flare’s look, and was most identified with her during her most recent run of issues, starting with FLARE #20 and continuing through FLARE #35. This time around, Gordon is on tap for an extended run on FLARE, including the upcoming “Quest for Lady Arcane” storyline scheduled to run simultaneously in FLARE and WITCHGIRLS INC, and an all-new “Challenge of the Gods” sequence that will culminate with a double-sized anniversary issue in FLARE #50.

It was FLARE who redefined the way costumed heroines are treated in mainstream comics. It was FLARE who proved that a strong, independent female character can carry a solo title all on her own.

Now she’s back!

Look for FLARE #40 in May, FLARE #41 in August, FLARE #42 in November, and a new issue of FLARE every two months thereafter.

Copies of this special issue of FLARE are not being distributed through normal comic book distribution channels. FLARE #40 is available only through select retailers, and by special order from the Heroic Publishing website at www.heroicmultiverse.com.

Comic book retailers interested in carrying this and other popular Heroic Publishing titles such as Champions, Murcielaga She-Bat, and Liberty Girl should contact Heroic Publishing directly, and register online for a retail account with the Heroic Distribution comic book service.

Official Press Release

AT LAST! THE THRILLING CONCLUSION TO FLARE’S ADVENTURE IN LOS ANGELES!

Only eighteen years late, and twenty-four years after it started, it’s the thrilling conclusion to the extended storyline that began in the very first issue of FLARE!

Classic Flare artist, MARK PROPST, has returned for Flare’s “Farewell to the City of Angels,” the all-new adventure that brings together Flare, Lady Arcane, the savage Tigress, and the sinister Thugmaster in a wrap-up of all the various overarching plot threads that two decades ago ran through the first series of comic books featuring the adventures of comics’ shining goddess of the light.

There are still a few untold stories that date from that period in our heroine’s life, most notably an unexpected visit from that unrepentant little sneak thief, ICICLE, that we’ll eventually get around to telling you about. And there is a gap between this adventure and the sequence of stories that began in Flare v3 #1. But for the time being, this brings us full circle. The Flare Adventures title goes on the shelf for a while. And the regular Flare comic book returns in two months with new adventures that take place today!

Catch the preview of Flare Adventures #31 at www.heroicpub.com/heroicpub/previews/fa31.php.

Official Press Release

GORDON PURCELL RETURNS TO FLARE!

Beginning with FLARE #40, currently scheduled for a March 2012 release, GORDON PURCELL returns to lend his artistic talents to comics’ shining goddess of light, FLARE!

In this issue, the focus is on Flare’s police officer boyfriend, LUCAS MADISON. When Flare’s arch-enemy Nyx, sultry goddess of the night, decides she wants Lucas for herself, and recruits help from APHRODITE in order to get him, how in the world is a mere mortal ever going to be able to resist the mind-altering potions of the Olympian goddess of love?

This adventure serves as a prologue of sorts to an extended Flare storyline that will be drawn by Gordon, in which the goddesses of Olympus decide to hold a competition to determine which of them will be raised up as queen of the Olympian gods. Naturally, as an incarnation of the dawn goddess Eos, Flare will be a part of that. Current plans call for this extended “Challenge of the Gods” storyline to begin appearing in the summer of 2012, first as a part of the Flare online webcomic, updating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at www.heroicpub.com/flareonline. Only after the webcomic sequences are complete will the storyline be collected into print editions of the Flare comic book, most likely beginning in the summer of 2013.

The FLARE comic book does resume publication in 2012, tentatively on a bimonthly schedule, with new issues appearing in March, May, July, and thereafter.

COMICS’ GODDESS OF LIGHT SHINES IN HER OWN THRICE-WEEKLY WEBCOMIC

Just in case you haven’t yet noticed, FLARE has since mid-September been appearing in her own thrice-weekly online webcomic, updating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at www.heroicpub.com/flareonline.

The Flare Online webcomic currenly features the full-color Sunday newspaper strips prepared for distribution by Creators Syndicate. All of those strips will be presented, for the most part in sequence, with an exception for the two strips created specifically for Christmas, in which Flare meets Santa’s li’l elfin granddaughter, Chrissie Claus.

Once the existing Creators Syndicate strips run out, new material will begin appearing in the FLARE webcomic.

The Flare webcomic already features the work of such talented artists as Mark Beachum, Tim Burgard, and Gordon Purcell. It’s well worth a visit, three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at www.heroicpub.com/flareonline.
