Alice in Leatherland #3 (Black Mask Studios) – The sex-positive fantasy series has been intriguing so far and we want to read more and see more, of this type of storytelling.
Bunny Mask #1 (AfterShock) – A new horror series about an unnatural killer unleashed on the world after thousands of years of being locked away.
Cherry Blackbird #1 (Scout Comics/Black Caravan) – A rocker must nab demons for the devil or she’s doomed when she turns 27.
Eve #2 (BOOM! Studios) – The first issue was fantastic and we’re excited to see where this apocalytpic story goes.
Far Sector #12 (DC Comics/DC’s Young Animal) – The series wraps up and we seriously have no idea where it’s going to go.
Freak Snow #1 (Behemoth) – A frozen apocalyptic tale and lets face it, we’re suckers for those.
Girl From the Sea (Scholastic Graphix) – The concept sounds like Splash with an LGBT spin for younger readers.
The Good Asian #2 (Image Comics) – The Chinatown noir had an amazing first issue not just delivering a solid detective story but also confronting racism, social issues, and American history head on.
The Joker #4 (DC Comics) – The series has exceeded our expectations with a story not about the Joker but the man he tortured and wants to close that chapter of his life, James Gordon. There’s a Moby Dick vibe to the series that’s intriguing.
Maniac of New York #5 (AfterShock) – We’ve loved this series that brings the slasher concept to comics.
Miles Morales: Shock Waves (Scholastic Graphix) – A middle-grade story about Miles Morales, aka Spider-Man!
Minamata Story (Stone Bridge Press) – The story of “Minamata disease,” a debilitating and sometimes fatal condition caused by the Chisso chemical factory’s careless release of methylmercury into the waters of the coastal community of Minamata in southern Japan. Sounds like fantastic graphic journalism/history.
Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton #1 (Image Comics) – The world’s most unlikable action star has been found dead, and his previous TV sidekicks are looking to solve the mystery. The concepts sounds like a lot of fun to us.
Web of Spider-Man #1 (Marvel) – The description makes the series sound like it’s geared toward younger readers and we’re totally fine, and excited, about that.
Rockstar Cherry Blackbird sold her soul for fame. Now at the age of 26, time is running short. The day she turns 27, she’ll be dragged to Hell. But Cherry is not one to go quietly. The Devil tasks her with collecting seven demonic souls that have escaped the Abyss. If she can do this before her next birthday, she’ll be released from her infernal pact and spared eternal damnation. Heaven help anyone who gets in her way!

Black Friday #2 (Scout Comics/Black Caravan) – Something is trying to come up through the floor. An evil has festered due to the violence of previous Black Fridays and the staff of Star-Mart will need to survive what’s coming. Fantastic horror and a must for fans of the genre.
Black Widow #7 (Marvel) – The series has been amazing so far with a great mix of everything. The writing is top-notch, the action entertaining, and the art is amazing. One of Marvel’s best series out now.
The Blue Flame #1 (Vault Comics) – A new take on the superhero genre. The Blue Flame must prove humanity is worth saving before a universal trial but the hero must save himself first.
Made in Korea #1 (Image Comics) – A series that explores the concept of artificial intelligence. Check out our glowing review.
Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom #1 (DC Comics) – Spinning out of Future State, this is the story of how Shilo Norman became Mister Miracle.
The Other History of the DC Universe #4 (DC Comics) – John Ridley turns his exploration into the DC Universe towards Renee Montoya.
Redshift #1 (Scout Comics) – The Ministry of Exploration pins mankind’s last hope on an astronaut who’s scared of space. It’s a tale of survival for all.
Reptil #1 (Marvel) – Not a character we expected to get the spotlight but we’re intrigued to see what’s done here.
Robin #2 (DC Comics) – The first issue was a lot of fun. There was a solid mix of humor and action and the second issue is just as fun. So much added to Damian as far as depth of the character already.
Shadow Doctor #4 (AfterShock) – The amazing true story about a Black doctor in the 1930s who had to turn to his friend Al Capone to help fund his business.
Shadowman #2 (Valiant Entertainment) – The first issue was fantastic and a great reintroduction to the character. The debut got universal praise from our team and we’re all excited to see where the series goes from there.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #3 (IDW Publishing) – We’ve been eagerly waiting for the issue as the series has been delivering entertainment with each release. It’s a familiar grizzled take but the setting and story itself really stands out with really unique elements.
The sequel to Phantom Starkiller! The Curse of the Cryptocrystalline Stone continues! Follow the Cosmic Ghoul Warrior and young psychic, Acele Aerglo, as they embark on the next chapter of an adventure that will take them from the vastness of The Void to the depths of an aquatic moon crawling with fantastic creatures! This action-packed tale of sinister celestial sorcery continues behind the mask of the mysterious and malevolent Count Draco Knuckleduster!
Count Draco Knuckleduster is from writers Peter Goral and Joseph Schmalke, art by Schmalke, color by Peter Goral, lettering by DC Hopkins, and edited by Shawn French. It’s out in July from Scout Comics‘ imprint Black Caravan.
Scout Comics & Entertainment Holdings Inc. has announced that they are expanding their comic book, trade paperback, and merchandise programs by signing a non-exclusive Canadian distribution deal with Universal Distribution effective immediately. Scout Comics and all of its subsidiaries (Black Caravan, Scoot!, Outsider Comics, and Tracker Collectibles) will also be available on Universal’s platform beginning in May for July 2021 release.

Batman #108 (DC Comics) – Batman’s undercover to discover what’s up with the new group in town while things are in motion elsewhere bringing together the future Gotham we witnessed in Future State.
Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #2 (DC Comics) – The first issue leaned more heavily to fans of Fortnite so we’re intrigued to see if the second issue is more friendly to people new to Fortnite.
Becstar #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – A star-hopping mercenary-gone-full time-gambler. Yeah, that kind of sounds awesome.
Broken Souls Ballad #1 (Scout Comics/Black Caravan) – Saint Abigail’s Institute creates monsters – and those monsters are teenagers! The teens discover they have abilities tied to their psychosomatic conditions.
ENIAC #3 (Bad Idea) – The two issues so far have been entertaining with a nice mix of alternate history and action. We’re hoping for more of the same in this tech-thriller.
Eve #1 (BOOM! Studios) – Eve wakes up to a world she wasn’t traiend to live in, a future dystopian America.
The Good Asian #1 (Image Comics) – Following Edison Hark-a haunted, self-loathing Chinese-American detective-on the trail of a killer in 1936 Chinatown. Yeah, we’re in.
Green Lantern #2 (DC Comics) – The first issue was a bit choppy but our new favorite Green Lantern Jo (from Far Sector) debuts in this issue and we’re excited!
Heroes Reborn #1 (Marvel) – It shares a name with that other event but isn’t related. A new world where the Avengers never happened and only Blade remembers… yeah, we want to check this out.
Marjorie Finnegan: Temporal Criminal #1 (AWA Studios) – Garth Ennis writing a new series. That alone has this comic on the list.
Nocterra #3 (Image Comics) – A world of darkness and an amazing new villain. Nocterra is so well thought out at so many details.
The Secret to Superhuman Strength (Mariner Books) – Alison Bechdel goes over her fascination with fitness crazes.
Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 (Marvel) – It’s a major crossover event in the Star Wars universe as bounty hunters are all after the same bounty… Han Solo frozen in carbonite!
Suicide Squad #3 (DC Comics) – The first two issues have been full of action with some interesting personalities. Add in a body count that’s already high, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
Whalesville x Rocks and Minerals (Bad Idea) – The comic sounds like it’s more geared towards all ages and with a new format for Bad Idea, we want to see what they have in store for fans.
Black Caravan, the sci-fi/horror imprint for Scout Comics, has signed a deal to publish Swamp Dogs. To help promote Swamp Dogs, Black Caravan is embarking on a mystery campaign leading up to the release of an ashcan comic July 2021. Black Caravan will be distributing bookmarks featuring teasers leading up to July. Bookmarks will be included in all subscription boxes for Scout Comics and Black Caravan, as well as being distributed to comic shops around the U.S. The cover of issue 1, as well as a plot synopsis, will be revealed in July.
Swamp Dogs will begin with a 5-issue miniseries. Following the miniseries, Swamp Dogs will tentatively continue in phases that will include multiple ongoing series, future minis, and standalone issues.
The creative team behind Swamp Dogs has been announced as well. Kewber Baal is illustrating the book. Coloring the book is comic veteran Ruth Redmond. Letterer Steve Wands is a comic industry veteran with over 1400 credits to his name. Covers are being illustrated by Robert Sammelin. J.M. Brandt and Theo Prasidis will be co-writing the comic.
Scout Comics has announced that Black Friday #1 has sold out and is going back to print.
Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year. Millions of Americans pack the aisles of retail outlets all over the country battling for the best bargains. While an unlucky clean-up crew deals with the aftermath of the latest Black Friday frenzy, they discover that years of pent-up negative energy has released something very evil and dark into their superstore, which is just the way corporate wanted it.
