We’ve gotten teases and now we have our first look at Y: The Last Man. The show is based on the acclaimed comic series published by DC Comics‘ Vertigo imprint and created by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. The comic was published from 2002 to 2008 and ran for 60 issues.

The story involves an apocalyptical even where all living mammals with a Y chromosome simultaneously die. There’s two exceptions, Yorick Brown and a capuchin monkey named Ampersand. Yorick wants to find his fiancée while others want to figure out why Yorick died or capture the last man alive.

Y: The Last Man begins streaming exclusively on Hulu on September 13.
