Review: Alice Cooper Versus Chaos #1
It’s the ultimate heavy metal crossover as the original shock rocker meets the original death metal comic book universe! Bizarre nightmares are plaguing Evil Ernie, Chastity and Purgatori, and though the hate each other’s guts, they may have to join the teen monster team called The Chosen to find the one and only Alice Cooper!
Alice Cooper vs. Chaos #1, story wise, is interesting, and a little complicated at times. Combining the real world with a world of nightmares. The world of nightmares is what you would think, dark, while the real world is a bit less, but by no means does that make it dull. The first issue is an introduction and with that there’s several various story-lines going on simultaneously as they introduce new characters from both worlds.
The art work by Jim Terry is superb, and manages to make the characters stand out some in comparison. For the most part, the world is a mix of light and dark. Mostly the main characters are well drawn, and contrast with the world they are introduced in.
One last note. This book is clearly intended for mature readers. Featuring scenes of violence, blood and gore, and macabre imagery. Unless you are not offended by those type of things, pick it up.
