Cuba My RevolutionVertigo, a brand under DC, is producing Cuba: My Revolution a graphic novel based on a true story.

It tells the story of a 17-year-old upper class Cuban girl named Sonya, who is mesmerized by Castro’s promise of a new country.  She is torn between pursuing art and medicine.  She decides to do both — art to satisfy her soul and medicine to help her country. This all is squeezed in between her training for the Cuban militia.  Her view of Castro changes and everything she believes turns out to be a lie.  She eventually makes her way to the United States taking her art with her.

The graphic Novel is based on the experience of Cuban-born artist Inverna Lockpez.

Cuba: My Revolution is due for release in September 2010.
