Following the sell-out of Major X #1 ahead of its release, Marvel is excited to announce that ahead of its release on April 17th, Major X #2 has sold out and will return to comic shops for a second printing with an exclusive second printing cover by Rob Liefeld!

Major X #2 is written by Rob Liefeld with art by Brent Peeples and main cover by Liefeld and Romulo Fajardo, Jr.

Review: Major X #1

WHO IS MAJOR X?

A mysterious new player enters the Marvel Universe and the X-Men are in his crosshairs! What is his mission and how can the man known as Cable hope to stop him?

Well this was something. Written and penciled by Rob Liefeld (there are feet in this comic of varying quality), Major X is the kind of book that wouldn’t be out of place if it were released twenty five years ago. The story is pretty straight forward and lacks any real punch – though it does set the remainder of the series up pretty well, and the art is for the most part exactly what you’d expect from Rob Liefeld; energetic, clean and well composed.

The characterization of Wolverine, specifically his dialogue is pretty… well it’s a great approximation of Wolverine from decades ago, chum, and it’s more than enough to take you away from the story that had up until that point been pretty engaging. After you get to that point, the comic does go downhill, which is disappointing after the strong opening. The plot devolves into a “classic” one of time and dimensional travel told around a fight that is at least entertaining to watch.

I say strong, when I really mean “interesting enough to get you to turn the page without hating yourself for buying this comic.” Major X isn’t a bad comic – but neither is it close to being a must read book. It’s just… an above average comic with a derivative X-Men themed name that takes far too long to get to the point, but looks pretty good whilst doing it.

Marvel Team-Up #1 (Marvel) – There’s something about this classic series as a whole that gets us excited. The first issue is a really cool flip-book experience.

Rocko’s Modern Afterlife #1 (BOOM! Studios/KaBOOM!) – A new limited series where O-Town is turning into mindless zombies and Rocko hopes to outlast the hoards by barricading himself in his home.

Section Zero #1 (Image Comics/Shadowline) – UFOs, Monsters, and Lost Civilizations? Yeah, we’re in for this adventure miniseries.

Stiletto #1 (Lion Forge Comics) – A new series from Palle Schmidt that’s a crime story revolving around the slaying of officers attempting to guard a material witness.

War of the Realms #1 (Marvel) – Marvel’s big event for 2019 starts here. Every character and series will be impacted and this first issue is epic.

Major X #1 is Getting a Second Printing Before Its Release

Industry great Rob Liefeld holds a significant place in Marvel history thanks to his creations of iconic X-Men characters like Cable and Deadpool – and in his upcoming new series Major X, Liefeld creates his first new Marvel character in three decades, introducing a new force into the X-Men universe!

Rob Liefeld Delivers a New Take on Cable for Major X

In January, creator Rob Liefeld and Marvel announced Major X, the latest new spin on the X-Men universe. Major X comes from another existence called the X-instence, a mutant Shangri-La. It’s a world of peace and harmony. Something happens forcing Major X to land in the Marvel Universe but not in the spot he hoped for, he lands in 1991 and eventually makes his way to the modern-day Marvel world.

So, with a part of the multiverse to explore, we’re going to get new takes on classic characters as we’ve already seen with some of the teaser art.

Liefeld has now revealed a new take on another classic character, Cable. With his iconic scar and cybernetic arm, it’s an unmistakable new take on the character.
