All-New Ghost Rider Burns its Way into the Pages of Lowrider Magazine

Marvel is marketing All-New Ghost Rider outside of the comic realm by partnering with Lowrider Magazine. For the promotion, Source Interlink Media’s Lowrider Magazine will feature the cover story of “Marvelous Mayhem” showcasing the newest character to take up the Ghost Rider mantle! Rendered by writer/artist Felipe Smith, this cover features the newest Spirit of Vengeance posing with a bikini clad model and the meticulously-designed lowrider custom car of the month!

On sale in April, the issue will feature an exclusive interview with Marvel’s Editor in Chief Axel Alonso and All-New Ghost Rider writer, Felipe Smith featuring artwork from All-New Ghost Rider #1 to help promote the debut to the magazine’s readership.

In turn, during the month of April, Marvel Comics will feature full-page advertisements for Lowrider Magazine across various titles in its comic book line. This initiative will also expand out into a series of high exposure press announcements, social media campaigns and much more across both Marve land Lowrider Magazine channels that is sure to engage comic book fans and auto-enthusiasts alike!

It’ll be interesting to see if this boosts the series at all.

A high speed street race in East LA leads a young man down the fast and furious road of destiny. Amid an East Los Angeles neighborhood full of gang violence and drug trafficking, 18-year old Robbie Reyes explodes onto the scene as the newest Ghost Rider!

In an interview with Marvel.com Felipe Smith said:

His vehicle of choice, the automobile, very clearly sets him apart visually. In comparison to his vengeance seeking predecessors, he’s very young and inexperienced in most aspects of life; but as a the product of a harsh inner city upbringing, Robbie’s street smarts, overall distrust for most people, and clear contempt for his violent surroundings make him the perfect host for a Spirit of Vengeance.

But motorcycles and cars were just the beginning! Robbie has the ability to turn any vehicle into a flaming engine of retribution. And he’ll need it. War is brewing in the criminal underworld. But crime and corruption have a new enemy. With the pedal to the metal, Marvel’s newest Ghost Rider puts vengeance into overdrive!

NYCC 2013: More Marvel! Miracleman, Iron Patriot, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer & More!

Saturday saw a good chunk of announcements at New York Comic Con from Marvel, including some long rumored or wondered about series and characters. Numerous teasers that have hinted as to what we can expect were revealed!

  • Avengers A.I.” #8.NOW – The series heads to the 130th century with the Uncanny Avengers and a new division of S.H.I.E.L.D. called the “Robot Hunter Squad”

  • Ghost Rider rides in 2014! – Looks like Ghost Rider is getting some focus again. Not only will the Spirit of Vengeance get his own series written by Felipe Smith and drawn by Tradd Moore but he’ll also join Charles Soule‘s Thunderbolts. However…. from reports, it looks like Thunderbolts will have Johnny Blaze while the solo series will be someone new!

  • Silver Surfer! – Dan Slott and artist Mike Allred take on the classic character and say they’ll introduce a new female character to go along with him.

  • Iron Patriot – Ales Kot with art by Garry Brown take on James Rhodes in his own series who attempts to forge his own path (as opposed to the other series where he tried the same thing).

  • Miracleman – We’ve wondered when he’d return, but Marvel has finally announced their plans for the legal limbo creation. Starting in 2014 we’ll be seeing more including the never before been seen Miracleman #25 by Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham. The series will kick off with an all new material and a #1 in January!
