HBO Max got a massive amount of information dumped today with reveals of what subscribers can expect.
The digital service is showing some love for fans of DC Comics with multiple shows. DC and HBO have the same parent company.
DC films of the last decade will be available within the first year of launch as well as every Superman and Batman movie from the last 40 years. Joker will debut on the service in 2020 as well.
But, it’s not just about movies, it’s television shows as well.
Greg Berlanti is developing a pair of shows for the service.Strange Adventureswill be a DC superhero anthology that features DC characters from across their history. A series that focuses on the world of Green Lantern is also being worked on but details are scarce.
Also announced is a teen comedy, DC Superhero High from Elizabeth Banks. The series concept sounds a bit like the popular young reader comic series DC Super Hero Girls.
Finally, HBO Max will compete a bit with the DC Universe app as Doom Patrol will debut on the platform.
HBO Max will be available for $14.99 launching May 2020. It will be free for those with HBO and AT&T service and those with HBO Now will get HBO Max. Those who subscribe to HBO through a cable provider are currently in the dark.

DC Universe continues to deliver new content, robust community engagement, and real-world experiences to its members. During the grand opening reception of a new, pop-up activation titled, DCU HQ during New York Comic Con, the subscription service highlighted updates to the platform and previewed new content coming in 2020.
During the opening event news on the Harley Quinn animated original series was announced including the debut date!
Harley Quinn will debut on the DC Universe service on November 29, 2019.
DCU HQ also included an art retrospective dedicated to Harley Quinn and the character’s colorful history throughout animation, comics and film titled The Fantabulous Evolution of One Harley Quinn Gallery. Included in the gallery space are props from the hotly anticipated film Birds of Prey(and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn), in theaters February 7, 2020, from Warner Bros. Pictures: her fan-favorite Mallet, Harley Grenades, Fur-Covered Brass Knuckles, Black and Red Roller Skates donned by Harley Quinn herself for a hard-hitting Roller Derby scene, and many more never-before-displayed items.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, DC Universe unveiled a slate of programming updates for the first-of-its-kind digital subscription service at a panel that featured many of the original series produced by Warner Bros. Television and Warner Bros. Animation. The panel unveiled sneak peeks, first looks, exclusive screenings and breaking news for Doom Patrol, Titans, Young Justice: Outsidersand the upcoming adult-animated comedy series Harley Quinn.
Doom Patrol: Executive producer Jeremy Carver and series star Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane) were on hand to deliver the exciting news that the critically acclaimed series has been renewed for a second season via a deal with HBO Max. The eccentric anti-hero adventures will continue in 2020, with all-new original episodes set to debut simultaneously on DC Universe and HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s forthcoming streaming service, which has championed the series. In addition, upon the launch of HBO Max, all 15 episodes of Doom Patrol season one will be available for streaming.
Titans: It was also announced at the panel that season two of Titans, DC Universe’s first original live-action series, will premiere Friday, September 6.
Harley Quinn: Executive producers Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern, and supervising producer Jennifer Coyle premiered the pilot episode of the upcoming adult animated comedy series starring Kaley Cuoco, who voices the title role of Gotham city’s favorite Queenpin and is also an executive producer of the series. Fans were also treated to a new trailer highlighting even more laughs that will be coming their way this season. The series will premiere on DC Universe this fall.
Young Justice: Outsiders: Producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti screened an all-new episode of the wildly popular series. And not to be outdone by all the other big announcements of the night, the producers announced the continuation of the fan-favorite animated series during the panel, with a fourth installment already in production.
