Mighty Meeples: Street Fighter are 1-inch wooden figures that feature Street Fighter characters and can be collected for display or can replace pieces in any board game to upgrade the experience. First appearing over 15 years ago, the “meeple”—short for “my people”—possesses a distinctive shape that has made it a popular choice for player pieces in a variety of games.

Capcom’s Street Fighter video game franchise launched in arcades in 1987 and immediately made its mark, as players took on the challenge of battling through an international martial arts tournament. The second game in the series, 1991’s Street Fighter II, became a worldwide phenomenon, with gameplay and design elements that revolutionized the fighting game genre. Chief among these was the ability of players to choose from a diverse group of characters, each with a unique fighting style and a different country of origin. The numerous updates and sequels in the series have continued to be hugely popular, including the most recent release, 2016’s Street Fighter V.

The various new lines of Street Fighter collectibles will be released in stores worldwide later in 2017.
