As Season 2 of the Kaiju No. 8comes to an end later this month, fans can look forward to celebrating the holidays with Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 on Blu-ray on December 9, 2025 from Crunchyroll.
Releasing as a monstrous Blu-ray collection, the Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 Limited Edition set is packaged in a stunning glow-in-the-dark box with a special slip cover, which will include a glow-in-the-dark acrylic standee of the titular Kaiju No. 8; five art character cards featuring Kafka, Reno, Kikoru, Hoshina, and Mina; a metal-finish art card featuring Kaiju No. 8; and a top secret 160-page art book containing Japanese staff interviews, concept art, storyboards, and more. Both the standard and limited edition releases will also include Promo Videos, Music Videos, and Textless Opening and Ending Songs videos.

GKIDS has announced out of their panel at Anime NYC that it is bringing Perfect Blue, the legendary first film from the late auteur director Satoshi Kon to cinemas nationwide in a gorgeous new 4K restoration. Perfect Blue comes to cinemas nationwide starting October 3, 2025.

Perfect Blue has been hailed as one of the best animated features of all time and is only one of a handful of projects the late Satoshi Kon directed before his passing in 2010. Toei Animation and Crunchyroll have released details on the upcoming return of One Piece in North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Latin America. The wait will soon be over for fans of the global hit episodic series, which went on a brief hiatus last October.
Beginning April 6, 2025, fans can dive back into the thrilling adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates when the “Egghead Arc” resumes streaming with new simulcast episodes on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Latin America.
In advance of the simulcast’s return, Toei Animation will release Specials 14, 15, 16, and a new block of “Egghead Arc” episodes from the series’ popular English dub. English dub episodes 1109-1122 will be available for streaming starting March 18, 2025 on Crunchyroll in these same territories.

Yes, the loved/hated nu-metal band is representing in the opening credits for the animated series based on the video game from Capcom. The first game was released in 2001 with “Rollin” released in late 2000 and finding popularity well into 2001 (so it sort of works).

Crunchyroll, together with Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions, has announced a new anime series adapted from Sucker Punch Productions’ award-winning Ghost of Tsushima video game and its “Legends” cooperative multiplayer experience inspired by Japanese folktales and mythology.
The Ghost of Tsushima anime will be produced in collaboration with Aniplex, the studio behind globally celebrated series such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, and Sword Art Online. The adaptation will be helmed by Director Takanobu Mizuno, with Gen Urobuchi (NITRO PLUS) for Story Composition and animation by KAMIKAZE DOUGA. Together, the team will bring Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’ traditional samurai aesthetics to life with cinematic storytelling and striking visuals. Sony Music will serve as the strategic music and soundtrack partner for the series.
The series will premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027. More details, including the creative team and cast, will be revealed in the future. The announcement was made as part of Sony Group Corporation’s CES (Consumer Electronics Show) press conference in Las Vegas.
Crunchyroll and Aniplex have announced that Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- will officially premiere on January 4, 2025, only on Crunchyroll.
This news was shared alongside the release of the main trailer, giving fans a fresh look at new footage from the upcoming second season. The trailer also revealed the ending theme song, “UN-APEX” performed by TK (best known for Tokyo Ghoul’s “Unravel”), promising another emotional and powerful musical centerpiece for the series.
Adapted from the best-selling Korean web novel written by Chugong, Solo Leveling follows Sung Jinwoo, the world’s weakest hunter. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way. Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.
It’s been over ten years since gates that lead to another dimension have begun appearing across the world. The battles between the magic beasts inhabiting the dungeons through the gates and the human hunters who have awakened the abilities to fight them show no signs of ending. Ordinarily, a hunter’s abilities do not change upon awakening, with their rank never increasing. However, the low-ranked Sung Jinwoo, known as “The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind,” gained the ability to level up through battle during a raid on a double dungeon.
Having completed a job-change quest that earned him the job “Shadow Monarch” and command over an army of shadows, Jinwoo heads into battle seeking the ingredients for the Elixir of Life to save his sick mother.
Solo Leveling is animated by acclaimed A-1 Pictures. The series is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige.
The legend of Goku continues when the English dub of Dragon Ball Daima arrives on Crunchyroll starting on January 10, 2025 in select territories. Based on an all-new story and character designs from author Akira Toriyama, this original anime series from legendary studio Toei Animation commemorates the 40th Anniversary of Dragon Ball.
Last month, fans were given a first look at the Dragon Ball Daima English dub during Toei Animation and Fathom Event’s world premiere theatrical release of the series’ first three dub episodes on November 10, 11, and 12 in over 1,000 theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
English dub episodes of Dragon Ball Daima will be released weekly, starting with Episode 1: “Conspiracy” which premieres on January 10, 2025. The English dub will stream on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Goku and company were living peaceful lives when they suddenly turned small due to a conspiracy! When they discover that the reason for this may lie in a world known as the “Demon Realm,” a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appears before them.
Dragon Ball Daima is directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki together with series composition and script by Yuko Kakihara and animation character design by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.
The series features the opening theme song “Jaka Jaan” composed by Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd with support from C&K, the singer-songwriting duo of CLIEVY and KEEN, who also provided vocals. Lyrics are by Yukinojo Mori, best known for the Dragon Ball franchise songs “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” and “Limit Break x Survivor.” This song and the powerhouse collaboration behind it mark a new page in Dragon Ball history. Zedd also produced the ending song “’NAKAMA’ by ZEDD feat. AI,” whose lyrics were written and sung by the artist AI.
Dragon Ball Daima began streaming on Crunchyroll on October 11, 2024 in Japanese with subtitles.
Solo Leveling: ReAwakening features a catch-up recap of the first season coupled with an exclusive sneak peek of the first two episodes of the highly anticipated second season in one momentous theatrical fan experience.
Over a decade has passed since a pathway called a “gate” which connects this world and another dimension suddenly appeared, and people with superhuman powers called “hunters” have been awakened. Hunters use their superhuman powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates to make a living, and Sung Jinwoo, a hunter of the lowest rank, is considered the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind. One day, he encounters a double dungeon, a high-level dungeon hidden inside a low-level one. In front of a severely wounded Jinwoo, a mysterious quest window pops up. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to take on the quest, which makes him the only person who can level up.
