Fuji and find the Righteous Master…

SDCC 2024: Rooster Fighter is getting an anime adaptation

VIZ Media had a highly successful presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with two exciting panels. At the VIZ Media panel, thrilling news was unveiled that Rooster Fighter, everyone’s favorite cock created by Shu Sakuratani, is now in production for an anime adaptation. The series broadcast partner will be Adult Swim, with additional streaming partners to be announced.

Keiji is more than just an ordinary rooster—he’s humanity’s greatest defender! His opponents may be ten stories tall, but nothing is bigger than his stout heart and his fearsome battle cry—Kokekokko!

Guaranteed to elicit deeper laughs than any upcoming comedy anime, Rooster Fighter is bizarre, absurd, and proudly boundary-blurring. Keiji, is the cock-about-town with superhuman strength who defends the world from giant monsters called “Demons.” Filled with hyperbolic scenes of high action and comedy, this is one mother-clucker who delivers a showstopper.

Rooster Fighter Vol. 6 has its moments but it’s the weakest volume so far

In a world where terrifying monsters walk the earth, one heroic rooster is destined for greatness. When giant demons threaten the innocent, he’s going to show them who’s boss!
To save Morio from the demon controlling him, Chicken Little has found her courage and gone inside Morio’s head! She confronts the creature that has attached itself to Morio’s brain, but the parasite may get the better of Chicken Little as well! Meanwhile, Keiji, Keisuke, and Elizabeth battle a seemingly unstoppable devil and his master. When even Keiji goes down, Keisuke must awaken the Righteous Egg within his heart to achieve victory. But will this power be enough?

Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

Wednesdays (and Tuesdays) are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this week.

Destro #1 (Skybound) – It’s latest piece of the puzzle for the Energon Universe. Cobra Commander has connected with Destro at the end of his series, so what’s next?

Feral #4 (Image Comics) – The series has been amazing with beautiful art mixed with its horror undertones.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #307 (Skybound) – The series has been great so far continuing the long running series and delivering a shot in the arm.

Not Sew Wicked Stepmom Vol. 4 (Yen Press) – The series has been a great spin on Snow White with an “evil wicked stepmom” who is trying to protect her daughter and mend the relationship with her daughter’s father.

The One Hand #5 (Image Comics) – How does this serial killer mystery end? We have no idea and are excited to find out.

Rooster Fighter Vol. 6 (VIZ Media) – The concept might seem silly but the series has been fantastic so far and is a martial arts packed western with a rooster out for revenge and protecting the people.

Ultimate Spider-Man #6 (Marvel) – The previous issue was just ok focused on Harry Osborn while this one will wrap up the first story arc. It’s a great take on Spider-Man and one of the best comics Marvel is putting out right now.

Uncanny Valley #3 (BOOM! Studios) – It’s Terminator meets Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and it’s amazing. Great art with a fantastic premise results in a hell of a series so far.

Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime #1 (Marvel) – Marvel doing Disney comics!? We can’t wait to check out Marvel’s spin on Disney characters using classic Marvel stories and ideas.

Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

The Agent #1

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this week.

The Agent #1 (Ablaze) – For some, magic is a myth. For others, it is a weapon. What if witchcraft really existed? If our beliefs, superstitions, and legends were material? This is what Rhym, a young narcotics lieutenant, must question when she finds herself confronted with the impossible. The concept sounds pretty cool and we’re digging that cover.

Animal Pound #1 (BOOM! Studios) – It’s a new take on the classic Animal Farm but with another series that’s similar will this stand out? The preview release showed there could be two on the shelves and we’re excited to check this out!

Batman/Santa Claus: Silent Knight #3 (DC Comics) – The concept might seem silly but it’s been fantastic so far.

Blitmap #2 (Titan Comics) – Every comic has a unique cover and the series is “open source” in that anyone can build off of it. For those reasons alone, this is on our radar.

Borealis #1 (Dark Horse) – Winter nights last months, temperatures can hit seventy below, alcohol is illegal… and something mysterious is emerging on the remote ice. We’re already cold thinking about this supernatural thriller!

Dark Moon: The Blood Altar Vol. 1 (IZE Press) – The seven most popular boys at Decelis Academy all share a secret-they’re vampires. Keeping their identities concealed and dealing with their werewolf rivals is trouble enough, but the appearance of a mysterious new student only further complicates things.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #302 (Skybound) – The previous issue kicked off the Skybound era and we’re excited to see what’s next.

Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #3 (BOOM! Studios) – Some times you just want superheroes punching kaiju.

Original X-Men #1 (Marvel) – Marvel has teased something major coming out of this, so we’re intrigued.

Rooster Fighter Vol. 5 (VIZ Media) – A rooster fights kaiju. It doesn’t get much more complicated that that.

Tomb Raider King Vol. 5 (Yen Press) – The latest volume is full of twists and turns as the race to get relics kicks into overdrive.
