NYCC 2022: Crunchyroll announces 3 anime releases and more!

At the Crunchyroll Industry panel at New York Comic Con, Crunchyroll made a series of announcements across streaming, eCommerce, and Crunchyroll Games.

Revenger (Nitroplus)

  • Date: Coming Soon
  • Synopsis: As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Toshio Furukawa has been added to Guest Roster for Otakon 2022

Voice actor Toshio Furukawa will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according. He is primarily known for his roles in such popular series as “Dragon Ball” and “One Piece.”

Furukawa has played Piccolo in the “Dragon Ball” series; Portgas D. Ace in “One Piece”; Kai Shinden in “Mobile Suit Gundam” series; and Ataru Moroboshi in “Urusei Yatsura,” just to name a few of the most well known characters. He always goes the extra mile in acting, making a point to thoroughly consider why the character is played by him, and aiming to show the masculine strength, as well as the character’s gentler, sensitive side.

He also heads the acting school for Aoni production, Aoni Juku, and strives to train young talents to carry the industry into the future.

Shino Kakinuma will be a Guest at Otakon 2022

Voice actress Shino Kakinuma will be a guest at Otakon 2022.

Kakinuma has played numerous key characters in popular series, including Naru Osaka in “Sailor Moon”; and Videl and Pan in “Dragon Ball” series. She aims to play believable and authentic characters.

She is also the wife of Toshio Furukawa, and the two are well-known as an ideal couple.

Drawing from her experience as a former stage actor, she now spends part of her time teaching a class on the basics of expressing emotions to young talents at the Aoni Production’s acting school, Aoni Juku.

Otakon will be held from July 29-31 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Motonobu Hori to Be Guest at Otakon 2022

Motonobu Hori will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. He is the director of the Netflix anime series, “Carole & Tuesday.”

Hori is an anime director and character designer. He has worked as the character designer of “BECK” and as the director for “Carole & Tuesday” and “Super Crooks.”

Otakon will be held from July 29-31 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Singer Celeina Ann is a Otakon 2022 guest

Singer Celeina Ann will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. She is known as the singer voice for Tuesday on the Netflix anime series, “Carole & Tuesday.”

An American-Japanese singer songwriter, born in Japan, she started her YouTube channel “Celeina Ann’s Channel” in 2014, where she uploaded covers of her favorite pop songs.

In 2015, she released her very first EP, “We Are One,” which reached No. 4 on the iTunes Japan album chart.

In 2019 EP “Nightfall” with DJ Okawari was released, followed by 13 headliner shows at 10 cities in China and two cities in Japan.

Celeina Ann has collaborated with such brands as Ben Davis, Clinique, Fiat, Casio and others. Her long-awaited second album is now in production.

Yoshihiro Watanabe is coming to Otakon 2022

Yoshihiro Watanabe will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. Nabe is a producer at Orange and is currently working on “Trigun Stampede” as its business producer.

Born in 1982 in Japan, Nabe grew up in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, he joined the U.S. branch of the animation studio Madhouse. Throughout his early years in the anime industry, under legendary Masao Maruyama’s mentorship, Nabe gained unique international production experience, ranging from live-action to international collaboration projects.

Nabe’s career involves a range of shows and roles: “BEASTARS” (2021, Orange, Business Producer), “Godzilla S.P.” (2021, Orange, Business Producer), “League of Legends: New Journey Short” (2019, P.A.Works, Creative Producer), “Eccentric Family 2” (2017, P.A. Works, Business Producer).

Nabe is currently with Orange and is producing range of future shows, including “BEASTARS,” season 3.

Masazumi Kato will be a Guest at Otakon 2022

Anime producer Masazumi Kato will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. He is the producer for “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.”

Kato built his career at Media Factory, producing titles such as “The Sacred Blacksmith,” “The Familiar of Zero” series, “Aria the Scarlet Ammo,” “Soul Eater,” and “Medaka Box.”

Now with the Music and Video division of Marvelous Inc., he continues to succeed, working on titles such as “Sengoku Night Blood” and the recent hit series “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.”

Otakon will be held from July 29-31 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Author Wataru Watari to be a Otakon 2022 Guest

Author Wataru Watari will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. His series, “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected,” has been adapted into the anime series “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.”

Watari is a light novel author from Chiba prefecture of Japan. He debuted as an author by winning the third Shogakkan Light Novel Gagaga Grand Prize with “Ayakashigatari.”

He has authored a number of titles, including the “Qualidea Code” series and “Girlish Number,” but his most well-known work as an author is the series “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected.”

He has also worked on numerous other titles as script writers and in other roles, such as “Domestic Girlfriend,” “GETUP! GETLIVE!,” “The Saint’s Magic Power Is Omnipotent” series, and “Isekai Yakkyoku.”

Voice Actor Chado Horii to Be Guest at Otakon 2022

Voice actor Chado Horii will be a guest at Otakon 2022, according to Otakorp Inc. He plays Kakeru Tobe in the anime series “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.”

Horii is a voice actor from Mausu Promotion, born in Shizuoka, Japan. His main roles include Togo Sekiguchi from “Odd Taxi”; Ryuhei Nabeshima from “Ahiru no Sora”; and Kakeru Tobe from “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.”

Otakon will be held from July 29-31 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
