Free Comic Book Day returns May 2, 2026 and expands to Friendly Local Game Stores!

Free Comic Book Day 2026

After lots of doubt about it’s future, Free Comic Book Day returns in 2026 on May 2 but gets juiced with even more!

The best day of comics so far features releases from Archie Comics, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, Image Comics, Mad Cave Studios, Oni Press, Titan Comics, Udon Entertainment, and Vault Comics!

Those publishers are all handled by Universal Distribution and Lunar. What’s missing is Penguin Random House’s exclusive publishers like Marvel, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, Ignition Press, DSTLRY and more. There’s rumblings of their own event also on May 2.

But, it’s expanding to friendly local game stores!

So far, Upper Deck and Wizards of the Coast are supporting the event and the goal is to appeal to fans of tabletop board games, RPGs, and trading cards, on top of comic book fans! Traditionally, game stores have had their own days like Free RPG Day and International Tabletop Day.

Universal Distribution, which purchased some of Diamond’s assets, will be handling the event. Universal, while mainly has been focused on distribution in Canada for comics and games, has been teasing an expansion into the United States and more of a marriage between comics and games for distribution.

Satan has sent a new general to lead his invasion. As Belphegor advances through Europe on a mission to raise Hell, the Rig chases, only to end up on a collision course with an unexpected enemy: invaders from the north capitalizing on the chaos. Now, it’s a war on two fronts. And what’s worse, both enemies possess weapons that make the Rig look less like the miracle our heroes need and more like a deathtrap. Will the vehicle keeping them alive be their doom? All depends on how well Trucker can drive.

Big Rig is written by Post Malone and Adrian Wassel, drawn by Nathan Gooden, colored by Eisner-nominee Der-Shing Helmer, lettered by Jim Campbell, and designed by Tim Daniel

Vault Comics has announced Corin Howell’s Lilith will return in 2026 with an Ongoing Series

Vault Comics has announced that Corin Howell’s smash-hit sapphic horror comic book series, Lilith, will return as an ongoing series in 2026.

In the forthcoming second arc of the Lilith series, Penny’s bookstore is still a mess after the monster attack. Much to Lilith’s dismay, Michael proposes a great idea. Why not make a sexy calendar to raise funds to pay for the shop repairs? As Lilith, Michael, Penny, and Benny get to work, the four grow even closer. Lilith and Penny start making good progress on translating the book that could help get Lilith home. But what will Penelope think if she learns Lilith’s true motive—and true nature? Seems like Lilith is bound to find out when a sinister and sexy pair from her past emerges at a burlesque show.

Lilith, created by Howell, began as a genuine social media phenomenon. Howell’s Lilith illustrations have garnered millions of likes on Howell’s social platforms, making Lilith one of the most popular original illustrated characters on social media. Then in 2024, Howell & Vault partnered to publish a Lilith comic book series that became an immediate critical darling and commercial hit with multiple sell outs and new printings.

Lilith is an immortal who’s been banished from her home, a dimensional plane suspiciously similar to mankind’s idea of hell. She’s been posing as a model on Earth while secretly preying on humans. That is, until she runs into Penelope, a sweet bookstore owner with a tome that might hold the secret to returning Lilith to her home dimension.

More details about the next arc of Lilith will be revealed soon, and fans can expect to see Lilith’s triumphant return to  store shelves in 2026. In the meantime, readers can purchase the Lilith Volume 1 trade paperback at comic and book stores everywhere this October.
