DC has announced the next major expansion of its Next Level publishing initiative with three new ongoing comic book series launching on Wednesday, September 2, 2026: Legion of Super-Heroes, Teen Titans, and The Doom Patrol. These team books mark the latest evolution of DC’s Next Level line, following the success of recent launches including Batwoman, Lobo, Deathstroke: The Terminator, Firestorm, Zatanna, Barbara Gordon: Breakout, and The Deadman.

Together, as DC: All In continues its second act, these new series showcase the breadth, ambition, and creative energy driving DC’s 2026 publishing slate. DC’s Next Level titles stand alongside DC’s ongoing and limited series across both the main universe and Absolute universe, expanding the scope and future of DC’s storytelling.

Legion of Super-Heroes

A New Tomorrow Begins for the Legion of Super-Heroes

Joshua Williamson and Hayden Sherman reimagine the future of the DC Universe

One thousand years after the Last Son of Krypton’s rocket crashed on the Kent Farm comes a new future inspired by the Man of Tomorrow!

But this new future is in danger! Superheroes are outlawed! Deadly enforcers known as the Persuaders keep the populace of the United Planets in check! Worlds are at war! And this dark tomorrow’s last glimmer of hope, R.J. Brande, has been brutally murdered.

Can the mysterious Brainiac 1 of 5 solve Brande’s murder? To restore hope to the universe, he must assemble a legion of gifted young rebels from across the cosmos! But they are scattered across the universe!

Witness the dawn of a new future in DC Comics architect Joshua Williamson and Eisner-winning superstar artist Hayden Sherman’s Legion of Super-Heroes… you will never look at tomorrow the same way again!

TEEN TITANS

The Teen Titans Go Next Level in a Bold New Era

Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo launch a new generation of Teen Titans

When one of their own vanishes after attending a rally for Ascend—a fast-growing youth movement training kids to survive in a world shaped by superhuman conflict—Fairplay, Cheshire Cat, Proxy, and Wildcard will do whatever it takes to find their friend, including teaming up with Red Hood!

Jason thinks they’re soft and reckless. They don’t understand how he can still kill people. Now they have to work together—whether they like it or not!

Created by Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, the acclaimed team behind Power Rangers: Shattered Grid and Image Comics’ Massive-Verse, this series channels the same mix of heart, scope, and style that has defined their work together—blending cinematic storytelling and Di Nicuolo’s dynamic, expressive art to bring the next generation of heroes to life.

The Doom Patrol

The World’s Strangest Heroes Enter a New Age

Darcy Van Poelgeest and Niko Henrichon take the Doom Patrol to the Next Level

The Doom Patrol is broke. Adopting a heroes-for-hire business model to stave off financial and emotional ruin, the team finds itself responding to what seems like a simple case—a missing cat. But when this case proves to be far from simple, the world’s strangest heroes find themselves pulled into a truly out-of-this-world situation! And elsewhere, beyond the view of Robotman, Elasti-Girl, and Negative Man—and perhaps even beyond the veil of our reality—a ghost of the team’s past is preparing to cross into their world.

The visionary team of Eisner Award-winning writer Darcy Van Poelgeest (Little Bird) and legendary artist Niko Henrichon (Spectators, Pride of Baghdad) ushers the Doom Patrol into a new age for DC Next Level.

Power Lords #1 power up some cosmic adventure

Power Lords #1

When deep-space smuggler Adam Power comes into possession of the mysterious Power Jewel, he finds himself transformed into something far greater and more powerful than the sum of his parts—only to discover he’s been drafted into an eons-old battle between good and evil that could rend entire galaxies asunder! Power Lords #1 is the latest revival of an 80s property.

Written by Dennis Culver and Matt Hotson, Power Lords #1 kicks off a new chapter for the classic series and delivers a start that’s entertaining and shows some promise. Power Lords is an 80s property I barely remember. Some of the character designs look familiar but the overall concept and any detail is totally lost to me. The comic dumps readers right into the action focused not so much on what each character can do but instead more focused on the plot to come. We get a general sense of who everyone is and there’s some interesting things with time travel, but overall, the introduction falls a bit short of giving a reason to care for these characters beyond the twist of the comic. They go through motions with no connection as to why I should care about the outcomes of that.

The art by V Ken Marion is good. With color by Andrew Dalhouse and lettering by Taylor Esposito, the comic has a lot going on for the characters. There’s a few panels where it’s not quite clear what’s happening but overall, with such a varied design of a cast, it all looks good. There’s noticeable size differences in the characters that really help them pop and the action has a certain “middle of it all” feel to it.

Power Lords #1 isn’t a bad start but at the same time beyond it’s later twist, there’s little that makes it interesting. The characters feel torn from 80s action films representing more of an archetype than actual characters. Overall, it’s another Nacelleverse launch that feels a bit more focused on the flash of it all than the depth.

Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1 launches the next era for the Green Lanterns

Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1

Following the events of the Civil Corps, a new era in Green Lantern mythology begins! Once again, Oa has become the epicenter of the Green Lantern Corps, bringing justice to the furthest corners of the galaxy. But a new threat has emerged: beings that manifest uncontrolled parts of the emotional spectrum have randomly appeared throughout the universe. Dubbed “Fractal lanterns,” Hal and a reformed Green Lantern Corps set off to police this strange new phenomenon while uncovering a sinister plot that could eliminate the very essence of sentient life. Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1 introduces the new status quo for the Green Lanterns kicking off what’s next for the Corps.

Written by Jeremy Adams, Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1 is an interesting comic in numerous ways. I’ll admit, I’ve fallen off the specifics of what’s been happening with the Green Lanterns. So, being able to pick up a comic that catches me up and kicks off what’s next is a perfect way to bring me back. And, this pulls that off.

Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1 dances around recent events that have impacted the Green Lantern Corps. It delivers some info that feels like it’ll be key to plotlines, but overall, it looks forward and not backward. The Corps. is reformed, the other spectrum Corps. are destroyed, Oa is back, and the Guardians are new and fresh with a new outlook. And, there’s a new mysterious threat who wants the Book of Oa that could lead to disasters.

The art by V Ken Marion is good. With color by Romulo Fajardo Jr. and lettering by Dave Sharpe, the comic does a good job of balancing its large cast and huge sets. It’s one that has a tinge of horror, lots of sci-fi, some humor, some aspirational and inspirational moments, and the art flows from one to the other without any jarring impact. That’s what’s impressive about the comic, visually, there’s such a nice flow to it all and you feel like you’re really being guided through things instead of each scene being so different they feel exactly like that, scenes.

Adams does a good job of giving readers what they need to know while setting up what’s to come with a clear focus. This isn’t one that throws out a lot of ideas, things are very focused in a good way. There’s some decisions that are odd and feel extraneous, but overall, the comic is a perfect way to dive into the Green Lanterns and see what’s coming for the Corps.

Oni Press and The Nacelle Company have announced a major event in the history of the publisher’s growing stable of hit Nacelleverse series as Hugo Award-nominated, Locus Award-winning illustrator – and original Power Lords character designer – Wayne Barlowe lends his talents to January’s Power Lords #1 with his first-ever comic book cover!

Debuting with two distinct editions of Power Lords #1 by writers Dennis Culver and Matt Hotson and artist V Ken Marion – as both an “open order” shelf cover and incentive, 1:50 “full art” variant featuring the complete detail of the artist’s unexpurgated painting – this Nacellverse milestone is a homecoming for Barlowe, who designed the Power Lords distinctive and enduring characters for the debut of the original Revell action figure line in 1983.

In addition to designing the enduring visual identity of the Nacelleverse’s farthest-reaching cosmic heroes with the Power Lords, Barlowe has forged a distinctive and influential path with a career spanning illustration and concept art across more than 45 years in film, fiction, and toys. Originally reaping renown for his Hugo Award and American Book Award-nominated masterwork, Barlowe’s Guide to Extraterrestrials, Barlowe’s talents soon transitioned from page to screen as he collaborated with some of the most renowned filmmakers of all time to forge the visual identities and environments for seminal science-fiction films, including James Cameron’s Avatar, Alfonso Cuarón’s Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire, Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy and Pacific Rim, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, and many more.

Expedition aired as the Discovery Channel’s special “Alien Planet” in 2005.
