Anime Expo 2024: Meet Yuki Kanamaru

UDON Entertainment has announced that manga creator Yuki Kanamaru will attend Anime Expo 2024 as UDON’s guest! Kanamaru-sensei will participate in ticketed autograph sessions at the UDON booth #3725 during the show.

Kanamaru-sensei is beloved for her hilarious romantic comedy manga More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers., the story of highschoolers Jiro and Akari, two opposites who are paired up in a highschool “marriage practical” class and need to learn to get along in order to switch partners to be with the people they REALLY have crushes on! This manga has been adapted into a highly-rated anime series (4.8/5 on Crunchyroll!) and the lead characters were voted #1 Couple on Anime Trending’s “Ship Charts” during the series’ airing.

UDON brings the original manga series More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers to an English audience for the first time. The series will make its English-language debut at Anime Expo 2024 in a special edition volume 1 variant, featuring a stunning original cover illustration by Kanamaru-sensei. The standard edition will be available from booksellers everywhere in August, 2024. (Please note: The English Volume 1 is a 2-in-1 edition that includes the contents of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers. Japanese Volumes 1 & 2).

This will be Kanamaru-sensei’s first ever U.S. event appearance, and she will be signing for fans at the UDON Booth, #3725, on Friday July 5th and Saturday July 6th. The Full Line-Up of Free Comic Book Day 2024 Comics Revealed

The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Retailer Selection Committee has selected forty-eight comic book titles for the industry’s most anticipated annual event to take place on Saturday, May 4, at participating comic shops worldwide.

A committee of comic shop retailers chose forty-eight titles to be available on Free Comic Book Day: twelve Gold Sponsor comics and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comics that give fans an opportunity to discover new titles and genres. This year’s selection of Silver Sponsor comics includes beloved franchises such as Star Wars, Monster High, Maleificent, Doctor Who, Street Fighter, and One Piece. Other notable Silver Sponsor titles are available from ABLAZE, Archie Comics, First Second Books, Massive Publishing and more.

The complete listing of all forty-eight FCBD titles, including the twelve Gold Sponsor and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comic books, can be found in the December issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 22.

UDON Entertainment announces Four New Manga Licenses!

UDON Entertainment has announced four new manga licenses for release in 2024! These titles span fan-favorite seinen action titles to anime tie-in romance titles to a surprising new title about cute cats. All titles will begin to release in 2024.

This official oversized(!) manga anthology of Persona 5 short stories and gag strips brings fans more of the characters and universe they love. Udon announces the Elden Ring: Official Art Book Volumes 1 and 2 Hardcovers

UDON Entertainment has announced that they have acquired the English language rights to the brand new book series Elden Ring: Official Art Book from Japanese publisher Kadokawa Game Linkage. UDON Entertainment will release English-language localized editions of Elden Ring: Official Art Book Volume 1 and Volume 2 in Hardcover format in Summer, 2023. UDON Entertainment has previously published official art books based on the FromSoftware games Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Dark Souls III, and Bloodborne.

The Elden Ring: Official Art Book Volumes 1 & 2 showcase the stunning artwork used in the development of the game “Elden Ring” published in February 2022 by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, and created by Director Hidetaka Miyazaki, with worldbuilding by the legendary author George R. R. Martin. Released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the title has received unanimous rave-reviews, with a Metacritic scoring of 96% and over 17.5 million copies sold. It recently took home the two top prizes at the Japan Game Awards, and has already started appearing on many critics’ ‘Best games of 2022’ lists with more award wins to certainly come.

The two-volume Elden Ring: Official Art Book contains a plethora of artworks from the game’s ‘Lands Between’ and its inhabitants in stunning oversized hardcover editions. SDCC 2022: UDON and Legendary illustrator Tenjin to Collab at Comic-Con!

UDON Entertainment has announced a brand new publishing collaboration with the legendary Japanese illustrator Hidetaka Tenjin. It’ll take place at San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place this year July 20-24th. The world-renowned illustrator will attend Comic-Con in person this year, as an honored guest of the show with the support of CCI and UDON.

Hidetaka Tenjin (known to fans as simply Tenjin) is known throughout animation and collector circles for his beloved concept and box art. His iconic work has helped to define the look of Macross Zero and Macross Frontier, and he has created dazzling and intricate mecha-focused pieces for properties from Gundam to Star Wars, Hellsing to Star Blazers 2205, and many, many more.

The full nature of this publishing collaboration will be unveiled closer to Comic-Con, but fans of Hidetaka Tenjin’s work, and all mecha fans in anime and manga fandom, will absolutely not want to miss this!
