Marvel, IMAX, and ABC Bring us the Inhumans in 2017

Marvel has announced that Marvel Television, IMAX, and ABC are partnering in an interesting agreement to debut the new ABC series Marvel’s The Inhumans in IMAX theaters. This is the first time a television series has debuted like this.

The first two episode of the series will be filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras and will run for two weeks in September 2017. The series will then become a weekly series in the fall.

Created in 1965 by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee the Inhumans are a powerful race of beings whose genetics allow them to gain powers through a mist. They are being featured in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as Marvel’s comics.

The deal allows for a higher quality product as the series will be special fx heavy.

There had been talks that the Inhumans would be part of Marvel’s live action film plans, a movie was announced and then walked back, and it’s unknown exactly how this impacts that greater plan.
