ComicsPro 2026: Gotham Faces “Bad Seeds” in a Major Event and Celebrates 40 Years of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

DC closed its publishing announcements at ComicsPro 2026 with a first look at “Bad Seeds”, a Gotham City event arriving in Q3 2026. Gotham City police commissioner Vandal Savage has declared war on the Bat-Family and flooded the streets with his private, para-militarized police army. Gotham’s new mayor, Pamela Isley, deserted by her allies both political and arcane, is about to make a last-ditch power play that will leave all of Gotham decimated by daylight.

These events converge in “Bad Seeds”, spanning a long, dark night in Gotham that threatens to turn the entire city into a primeval world of hostile plant life unlike anything on Earth for millennia, at a time when its greatest heroes are hunted and in hiding. More details on “Bad Seeds” will be shared in the months ahead.

To conclude their presentation, DC reminded retailers that 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. DC shared an overview of the publishing program and products planned throughout the year to celebrate Frank Miller, Klaus Janson, and Lynn Varley’s landmark series.

DC Collectibles Reveals #101 Batman Black and White Statue by Frank Miller

DC Collectibles has revealed the latest statue in the popular Batman Black & White series – Armored Batman by Frank Miller. #101 in the series is based on the iconic designs from Frank Miller’s 1986 series, The Dark Knight Returns.

This armored Batman perfectly encapsulates the worn-out, dystopian vibe from the comics while showing the technological power Batman possesses in the story.

The figure will be released in Summer 2020.

Unboxing: The One:12 Collective Mutant Leader

After leveling the gang called the Mutants from within the armored tank-like Batmobile, Batman is challenged to a one on one fight by the gang’s leader; it’s a fight the aged Batman is not sure he can win. The vicious battle takes place in the Gotham City Dump and leaves Batman defeated and broken in one of comicdoms most epic conflicts, and introduces a new villain to the Dark Knight’s Rogues Gallery. With an army of anarchistic punks at his command, overwhelming speed and strength the Mutant Leader is a whole new breed of criminal.

Digitally modeled to craft an uncanny comic likeness, each figure is built on a One:12 crafted body featuring over 30 points of articulation with specially tailored cloth costuming, intricate hand painted decoration and state of the art solid construction.

We open up and show off this One:12 Collective figure from Mezco.

Carrie Kelley, Oliver Queen, Joker, and Gorilla Grodd up next for Knight Model’s Batman Miniature Game

Knight Models has begun rolling out their previews of the next releases for their Marvel Universe Miniature Game and Batman Miniature Game. While the game company has teased one release so far, we don’t officially know what else we should expect for the two games.

Except we’ve got the scoop of releases, though not images of the miniatures.

So far, Knight Models has teased Carrie Kelley and the Sons of Batman for the Batman Miniature Game. Joining Kelley is a Frank Miller version of Oliver Queen (so we’re expecting a Dark Knight Returns look), as well as a new version of the Joker with Robotic Dolls, and finally the Flash’s nemesis Gorilla Grodd makes his debut after being seen in the “The Flash and Arrow” expansion book for the game.

We’ll be on the lookout when official images of the models are released.
