Red Sonja and Dejah Thoris Join the Women of Dynamite Statue Line

The heroines Red Sonja and Dejah Thoris (of the Warlord of Mars franchise) have long been cornerstones of the Dynamite brand, and hold iconic status in the realms of fantasy and science fiction. Now, Dynamite Entertainment proudly honors their impact on pop culture with gorgeous, timeless statues, adding them to the brand-new Women of Dynamite line.

First up, comes Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword, poised on a snow-covered battlefield, never having looked so majestic! Based on the original design of comics sensation J. Scott Campbell and sculpted by the talented Jason Smith, Hyrkania’s most lethal warrior stands approximately 11.5″ in height upon a decorative 5.5″ wide base. Hand-painted on cold-cast porcelain with ABS details, this highly-detailed statue comes individually numbered as part of a limited edition run, and is packaged in a four-color box with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

For the Dejah Thoris statue, Jason Smith and the team at the Brewing Factory poured over the very finest creator illustrations to find just the right inspiration, resulting in this gorgeous statue based on Frank Cho artwork, measuring 12″ high (to the tip of her sword) and 4.5″ deep, with a 6″ base. Hand-painted on cold-cast porcelain with ABS details, each statue is individually numbered as part of a Limited Edition run, and comes packaged in a four-color box with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Each statue was painstakingly rendered in incredible detail by Jason Smith, and will be released in August and September respectively, carrying a price tag of $189.99 each.

Dynamite Announces Women of Dynamite: Jungle Girl Statue

Dynamite Entertainment expands its merchandising program with the Jungle Girl Statue, the third in its line of porcelain Women of Dynamite statues. Produced as part of their announced creative partnership with merchandise development company The Brewing Factory, the statue is slated for release in late October and features Jana, the heroine of the Jungle Girl comic book series by industry sensation Frank Cho.

Based on the Cho’s distinctive art and sculpted by the ever-talented Jason Smith, the blonde warrior stands atop the skeletal remains of a triceratops. Hand-painted on cold-cast porcelain, the Jungle Girl statue stands approximately 12″ in height with a 6″ base, with each individually numbered as part of a Limited Edition run. This Women of Dynamite statue comes packaged in a four-color box with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Dynamite Entertainment first announced the Women of Dynamite line of statues in February 2015. The first release in the line features Vampirella, the iconic comic book heroine and horror hostess whose likeness in porcelain is based on art from superstar illustrator J. Scott Campbell. Purgatori, the Egyptian vampire goddess popularized in Chaos! Comics titles, is the second Women of Dynamite statue, based on art from the legendary Michael Turner. Each of these three statues has been sculpted by Jason Smith.

The Women of Dynamite: Jungle Girl Statue will be solicited in an upcoming edition of Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews catalog.

Dynamite and The Brewing Factory Team Up for Toys and Statues

Dynamite Entertainment is expanding its merchandising program and has announced a partnership with The Brewing Factory, the merchandise development company founded by Georg Brewer. The partnership will grow the Dynamite product line with new three-dimensional categories, most notably collectible statues and toys. The first projects will be a line of female character statues, Women of Dynamite, debuting with a Vampirella statue featuring the iconic comic book heroine and horror hostess (sculpted by Jason Smith and based on the artwork of J. Scott Campbell), and slated for release in June 2015.

Georg Brewer is an award-winning creative and production expert, and former Vice President of Design & Product Development at DC Comics; well known for establishing DC Direct, the successful (and fan-favorite) collectibles business where he led creative development. In 2011, Brewer founded The Brewing Factory LLC, providing a wide range of creative, design, franchise development and brand management consulting services for new and established products and brands.
