The Skin You’re In is an interesting and entertaining collection of horror stories

Within these pages, Ashley Robin Franklin leads you through the corridors of the uncanny in eight horror comics that are just begging to get under your skin. Whether set in the arid desert or the rain-soaked forest, these stories reveal the fallibilities of flesh that lurk just beneath the surface. A strange desert flower offers an intoxicating balm to grief, a group of friends invoke an old tale by the campfire, and outside a remote farmhouse, something miraculous and terrible falls from the night sky. Bodies are found, lost, celebrated, borrowed, haunted ― and irrevocably changed.

The Ashcan Edition Episode 3: Doing it Ourselves with Avi Ehrlich

On the third episode of The Ashcan Edition, Brant Lewis interviews Avi Ehrlich, the founder and publisher of San Francisco based indie comics publisher Silver Sprocket. Since it’s founding, Silver Sprocket has become more than just a publisher and a store but a community giving artists and creatives the tools and knowledge of making the comics they want to make fully independently. With their recent crowdfunding efforts close to ending, Brant speaks to Avi about their plans and goals for the future of Silver Sprocket and how they don’t want to rely on outside investors to dictate the direction of the company by turning to crowdfunding. Silver Sprocket and Avi are truly punk to their very cores.

You can follow Silver Sprocket on social media @silversprocket. You can also follow Brant Lewis on Twitter @Brant__Lewis and on Bluesky @brantlewis. And you can support Silver Sprocket at their website.
