Big Shoulders #1 kicks off a love letter to Chicago

Everybody in America comes through here sooner or later. It’s the crossroads of the nation, built from sweat and blood, made out of concrete and steel, and charged with energies and spirits far older than humanity.

It’s the city of dreams.

It’s the city of horrors.

It’s the city of Big Shoulders…

Crowdfunding Corner: Big Shoulders #1. Dragons. Aliens. Immortals. Hey, it’s Chicago. Anything goes.

Backer Beware: Crowdfunding projects are not guaranteed to be delivered and/or delivered when promised. We always recommend to do your research before backing.

Big Shoulders #1 is the beginning of a six-issue full-color comic series! It’s a Chicago-based fantasy where the mundane and the cosmic collide. The first issue features 30 pages of story and 10 pages of additional content. It’s an amazing adventure and it’s currently raising funds on Kickstarter.

Big Shoulders takes place in Chicago and follows an up-and-coming band while diving deep into the city’s rich history.

The storyline will build in scale and complexity across the series, and we’re planning to collect it into a graphic novel when it’s completed. Every issue will be in full color with plenty of extra artwork and behind-the-scenes material.

Big Shoulders is by writer John Dudley, art by Scott Gray, and color by Faz Choudhury. It features a variant cover by Charlie Adlard which you can check out below!

The campaign ends on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 9:48 AM EDT.
