Abandoned by Carnage, Eddie Brock must break out of jail in Queen in Black: Venom Unchained!

This summer, Hela and Knull’s cosmic conflict comes to Earth in Queen in Black a new crossover event from Al Ewing and Iban Coello. Spinning out of Ewing’s current run of Venom, key players include Mary Jane, the current host of Venom, as well as Eddie Brock, who was recently bonded to the Carnage symbiote. Following the recent announcements of Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark, Queen in Black: Hela and Queen in Black: Thor, Marvel reveals Queen in Black: Venom Unchained, a three-issue tie-in series that follows Eddie Brock’s quest from prison to the frontlines of the fight against Hela and Knull. This essential saga will be written by Charles Soule, who wrote Eddie’s twisted time as Carnage in Eddie Brock: Carnage, and drawn by Juanan Ramírez, following his work on the current Knull limited series, a key lead-in chapter to the event.

This week in Venom #256 by Al Ewing and Carlos Gomez, part of the Amazing Spider-Man/Venom “Death Spiral” crossover, Carnage discarded Eddie Brock for a better match—TORMENT! The development marks the end of Eddie’s time as host of the murderous symbiote, but he’s only just started paying the consequences! Before joining Marvel’s heroes to save the world from being torn asunder by the forces of Light and Dark, Eddie must first break out of prison and perhaps find a new symbiote to claim…

Eddie Brock is in prison after a failed bond with Carnage, and the Queen In Black is coming!!! Eddie wants to get back to Venom. But without a symbiote, how will he escape?!

Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark assembles Earth’s greatest hope against Hela and Knull’s Power

Hela and Knull wage war over the Marvel Universe this summer in Queen in Black, a new crossover event from Al Ewing and Iban Coello. But when Hela’s army of symbiotes and Knull’s forces of light arrive to conquer Earth, they’ll be met by two new super hero teams specifically assembled for their destruction in Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark, a three-issue tie-in series by writer Tom Waltz, currently writing one of the event’s key lead-in chapters in Knull, and artist Zé Carlos, who will also draw sequences in the main Queen in Black series.

Spinning directly out of Queen in Black #1, Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark follows two daring and pivotal confrontations with the Queen in Black and God of the Void themselves as BETA RAY BILL leads PHOTON, SUNFIRE and DAGGER to cast a light against Hela’s sweeping darkness while IRON MAN, equipped in new Darkforce armor, leads DARKSTAR, AGENT ANTI-VENOM and CLOAK to snuff out Knull’s all-encompassing light.

Beta Ray Bill is the only hero in Midgard who remembers Hela, the Goddess of Death…but does that mean he and his team can counter a Queen In Black? Queen in Black #1 gets True Believers Blind Bag Exclusives!

This summer, the Marvel Universe is torn asunder by a cosmic collision of evil in Queen in Black, a five-issue event series by writer Al Ewing and artist Iban Coello!

Announced last month, the debut issue will be the latest Marvel Comics launch sold in new True Believers Blind Bags, following Ultimate Endgame #1 earlier this year and Daredevil #1, hitting stands next week. And for the first time, Queen in Black #1 True Believers Blind Bags will only contain exclusive variant covers not available for regular ordering. Today, Marvel Comics reveals new Queen in Black #1 variant covers, including regular orderable covers by J. Scott Campbell, Jeehyung Lee, John Romita Jr., and Pat Gleason, the latest in his hit “Webhead” variant covers. Also revealed today are new True Believers Blind Bag exclusive covers by Artgerm and Gurihiru. Other blind bag exclusives include a virgin edition of Jeehyung Lee’s variant cover, an alternate “Webhead” cover by Pat Gleason that will be revealed at a later date, and the previously shown promotional image by David Marquez, which will be presented as two connecting covers.

This summer, Queen in Black, a five-issue event series by mastermind writer Al Ewing and superstar artist Iban Coello, conquers the Marvel Universe!

Queen in Black spins out of Ewing’s acclaimed work on Venom as well as the new Knull limited series that saw Hela seize Knull’s throne, forcing the God of the Void to claim a new power for himself. Their conflict erupts across the cosmos, coming to a head on Earth where Marvel’s heroes are all that stand in the way of the world being torn asunder by the forces of Light and Dark, both bent on enveloping the universe in their own brand of nothingness! This summer, Hela conquers the Marvel Universe in Queen in Black, an all-new crossover event spinning out of the current run of Venom by Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez and the newly launched Knull limited series by Ewing, Tom Waltz, and Juanan Ramírez. Ahead of Queen in Black’s official announcement, fans can check out upcoming covers for both Venom and Knull that reveal key developments for the event, including all-new costumes for Mary Jane Watson, cementing her bond with the Venom symbiote, and Knull, befitting the God of the Abyss’ all-new power source—LIGHT.

Spinning out of Peter, MJ, and Venom’s confrontation in May’s Venom #258, Mary Jane’s new costume debuts in Venom #259 this June. In the aftermath of Death Spiral, Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker have a long overdue heart-to-heart…but when the masks go on, Venom and Spider-Man have some unfinished business! Now that her secret is out, MJ fully embraces her symbiote strength, leading to a BIG change for Venom and MJ’s bond!
