Peacock is celebrating the second season of Twisted Metal at San Diego Comic-Con with bumper cars!

THURSDAY, JULY 24-SATURDAY JULY 26 

TWISTED METAL BUMPER BATTLE  

Fans will step into a post-apocalyptic world filled with bumper-to-bumper chaos at Peacock’s Twisted Metal Bumper Battle. As an homage to the Twisted Metal tournament at the forefront of season two, fans will be able to choose their ride, featuring the show’s most iconic vehicles reimagined as bumper cars, and take part in their own version of the Calypso hosted derby. In addition to the bumper car experience, fans can expect epic photo ops, a display of some of the tournament cars featured in the series, surprise and delight moments, and pandemonium around every corner.

Moderated by Perri Nemiroff of Collider.

An exclusive advance screening of the first two episodes of Twisted Metal Season Two before premiering on Peacock on Thursday, July 31. In Season Two John Doe (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) enter the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament hosted by Calypso (Anthony Carrigan), where they’ll battle new foes and familiar faces, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth (Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett).

When the recently deceased return to life, appearing normal and unchanged, Officer Dana Cypress is thrust into a peculiar murder investigation-one where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone, whether living or revived, is a suspect.

SYFY has released the first episode of Revival, “Don’t Tell Dad,” to watch for free. Watch new episodes of Revival, Thursdays at 10/9c.

Revival is based on the comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton and debuted in 2012 from Image Comics. It ran for 47 issues and featured more tie-ins.

Revival Gets its First Trailer

On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the “revived” appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.

Revival is based on the comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton and debuted in 2012 from Image Comics. It ran for 47 issues and featured more tie-ins.

The television show stars fan-favorite Wynonna Earp actress, Melanie Scrofano, alongside Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen. Recurring guest stars include Steven Ogg, Phil Brooks (CM Punk), Gia Sandhu, Katharine King So, Maia Jae, Nathan Dales, Mark Little, Glen Gould, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and Conrad Coates. It debuts Thursday, June 12 at 10 p.m. on SYFY with episodes available on Peacock a week after they air.

NYCC 2024: Peacock Celebrates Hysteria! with a Panel featuring Julie Bowen, Bruce Campbell, and Anna Camp

Peacock is returning to New York Comic Con with new Original series, Hysteria!, featuring an exclusive panel and behind-the-scenes look into the Satanic Panic horror thriller. The panel, taking place on Thursday, October 17th at 5:00pm, will include stars Julie Bowen, Anna Camp and Bruce Campbell, and showrunners and executive producers Matthew Scott Kane and David A. Goodman.

When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.

Join the creative team from Peacock’s three-part event The Continental: From the World of John Wick hosted by Collider’s Steven Weintraub, as they reveal behind-the-scenes moments and an exclusive first look at the series. A prequel to the blockbuster action franchise, the series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.

The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.

Dead Day Goes from Comics to Television

Dead Day, published by AfterShock, is going straight-to-series on Peacock. The comic was by writer/creator Ryan Parrott, art by Evgeniy Bornyakov, color by Juancho!, and lettering by Charles Pritchett.

Dead Day follows various story threads all revolving around the annual “dead day” when for one night, the dead come back to complete unfinished business. That could be a reason to celebrate or torment the living. The comic ran for five issues with a second volume coming.

Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson will serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers.

Halloween Kills Cuts Up the Box Office Coming in First

Halloween Kills

Halloween Kills took the top of the box office for the weekend with an estimated $50.4 million. That’s a pretty solid opening for the film which also opened on Peacock and during COVID. The relaunched franchise’s first film opened with $76.2 million in 2018 and went on to earn $159.3 million domestically and $96.3 million internationally.

Internationally, the film didn’t hold up as well earning just $5.5 million. That slashes a decent $55.9 million worldwide for the first weekend of the film. With mixed reviews, it’ll be interesting to see what legs the film has at the box office.

No Time to Die dipped to second place dropping just 56% to earn an estimated $24.3 million. The film has now earned $99.5 million in two weeks domestically. Over the week, the film earned about $91 million at the international box office. There it has now earned $348.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $447.8 million.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage dipped another 48% coming in third and earning an estimated $16.5 million. The film has now grossed $168.1 million after three weeks. The film has picked up a bit internationally. Over the week, it earned about $71.7 million to bring that total to $115.6 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $283.7 million.

The Addams Family 2 slipped one spot coming in fourth. The film dropped just 28.9% and earned an estimated $7.2 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $42.3 million. Internationally, the film grossed about $11.6 million over the week to bring that total to $16.2 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $58.5 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Last Duel which debuted with $4.8 million. The film also grossed $4.2 million at the international box office bringing its global debut to a bit over $9 million.

In comic films…

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings dropped out of the top five to come in at #6 for the weekend. The film grossed an estimated $3.5 million to bring its domestic total to $218.1 million. The film also grossed about $7.1 million at the international box office where it now stands out $196.2 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $414.3 million. The film currently stands at #7 for the year and not likely to climb much higher as #6 is held by No Time to Die with a $33 million gap between the two.

Black Widow earned a bit domestically over the week. Domestically, the film has grossed a little under $183.7 million. The international total has moved adding about $200,00 million over the week where it now stands at $195.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $379.4 million.

Old added an estimated $40,000. Domestically, the film has grossed $48.2 million. Internationally, the film stood at $41.9 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed a little over $90.1 million.

The Suicide Squad didn’t show up on the weekend chart and looks like it remained steady during the week. Domestically, the film has grossed $55.8 million. The film has also earned $111.6 million internationally. Worldwide, the film has grossed $167.4 million.

Initial numbers have 46 films earning $108,902,605 from 27,598 theaters. That’s about the same as last weekend’s 47 films which earned $108,802,855 from 28,506 theaters. It’s also another weekend in a row the box office has grossed over $100 million. The average earning was $3,946.03 this past weekend, an improvement over the previous weekend’s $3,816.84.
