Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Artist’s Edition

Patrick Horvath
July 28, 2026

In fall 2023, Patrick Horvath and IDW Publishing released the first issue of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees into the world. With its unique blend of beautiful watercolor art and shocking subject matter, it instantly lit the comic-book-reading world on fire and is one of the most popular original comic series of the last decade. Readers were captivated by the story of anthropomorphic serial-killer bear Samantha Strong and couldn’t spend enough time in the beautifully rendered town of Woodbrook.

This glorious collection features every single page from the first series and the 10-page short story “Praludium,” all presented for the very first time exactly as Horvath painted them. Full size. No digital adjustments. Experience the full force of the art that became this decade’s biggest comics sensation. Also included are six clear overlay pages that showcase patch panels, enabling you to see the original art and the final art as it was published!

Patrick Horvath and Tyler Crook Condemn Archie in Hell #1 – Coming in November! Get a First Look!

Oni Press and Archie Comic Publications, Inc. have revealed the first look inside the delightfully diabolical pages for Archie in Hell #1, an infernal new ongoing launching out of Oni Press’ monumental new line of star-studded Archie Comics series … just in time for the 85th anniversary of America’s teenage icon!

This November, join multiple Eisner Award nominee Patrick Horvath and Russ Manning Award winner Tyler Crook as they forge a brand-new legend of Archie horror, weaving a blood-stained trail from Riverdale’s dark colonial past to its all-too-sunny streets in the modern day!

They say that every small town has a secret. Well, in the case of Riverdale, it’s one heck of a humdinger: An ancient order of cultists has infiltrated its townspeople, bent on using human sacrifice to usher a demon lord into our mortal plane. And they’ve finally identified the final target they need to bring a century’s worth of planning to fruition: hometown football champion and all-around good guy Archie Andrews. But this secret cabal never dreamed that actual witches walk Riverdale’s streets . . . and when cult and coven clash in the final stages of Archie’s secret ritual sacrifice, the consequences will be cosmic . . . and young Archie Andrews will find himself damned to something far worse than Hell’s inner circle.

Unstuck from time and space. Bound to a terrible curse. Late for school. Things are about to go from bad to downright diabolical as Horvath and Crook unleash Archie in Hell #1, the most malevolent and merciless Archie Comics tale ever told . . . and, truly, you’ll never ever expect what happens next!

Do you dare? Archie in Hell #1 will pull no punches when sends America’s number-one teenager six feet under in November with a ghoulishly gruesome line-up of covers from series co-creators Tyler Crook and Patrick Horvath, alongside Paul AzacetaJesse LonerganKanoDan ParentMirka Andolfo, and Mahmud Asrar

SDCC 2026: Patrick Horvath’s Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees gets one more Bloody Act in 2027

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: The Summer and Fall

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees is delivering a trilogy when the third volume of the hit horror series kicks off in February 2027. Patrick Horvath returns to the award winning series with Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: The Summer and Fall which will be released by IDW Publishing‘s horror imprint, IDW Dark.

The series has followed Samantha Strong, who lives in a small town running the local hardware store. She’s also a serial killer. The first volume focused on her crimes almost being revealed while the second leaped ahead a few years to the dawn of the internet and bulletin boards where Sam connected with the sister of one of her victims.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: The Summer and Fall jumps ahead to 2004 where small-town America has died, there’s a forever war in the Middle East and Strong, who was once the most wanted person in the country, has now faded into obscurity. Now in her 60s, she’s attempting to live a quiet life off the grid and kills when there’s an opportunity. Will she be recognized and her peace broken?

Before that series kicks off, an Artist’s Edition of Horvath’s original painted work is on sale July 28 and an anthology Halloween Special featuring different creators releases in October.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring

Patrick Horvath

It’s been eight long years since a bloodlusting brown bear drove into the city, kidnapped a kind young duck, dissected his body, and buried the pieces in the woods. The duck’s family painstakingly sought justice…but this brown bear was smart…she covered her tracks…and in the ’80s, there simply wasn’t a way for the duck’s family to find answers.

But it’s not the ’80s anymore. Almost a decade after cuddly brown bear Samantha Strong solidified herself as the sole serial killer in Woodbrook, the world is entering a new era. As Samantha will soon find out, there are no secrets in the age of the internet. And those who lost loved ones to her massacre haven’t given up the flame of justice.

A reckoning is coming to Woodbrook. Join visionary writer and artist Patrick Horvath as he returns to the hit series that has taken the comic world by storm!
