My Hero Academia gets a live-action movie at Netflix

Netflix is giving another anime/manga the live-action treatment as Legendary Entertainment‘s My Hero Academia is heading there.

Shinsuke Sato will direct the project in his English-language debut working off a screenplay from Joby Harold. My Hero Academia is based on the popular manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. It boasts over 65 million copies in circulation.

The story follows superhero fanboy Izuku Midoriya who is born without a “quirk”. 80% of Earth’s population has manifested one that grants them special abilities. After meeting the greatest hero ever, Midoriya voes to work hard to become a symbol of peace for the world.

The series has been part of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. As of October 2022, the series has been collected in 36 volumes. It has spawned spin-off series, stage plays, and a lot of merchandise.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Advance Tickets are Now Available

Funimation Films has opened advanced ticketing for the North American theatrical release of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising from Toho Co Ltd. The film will be released on February 26 in more than 1,000 theaters across the U.S., Canada, and U.K. as a limited theatrical engagement in both Japanese (English subtitles) and English dub. Tickets are now open for pre-sale on the film’s official website.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising serves as a standalone film that will continue bringing superhero action and adventure to a wide range of audiences to enjoy.

The number one hero anime is back in theaters for a battle beyond anything fans have ever seen!

Class 1-A visits Nabu Island where they finally get to do some real hero work. Titan Launches My Hero Academia Kawaii Titans Vinyl Figures

After years of fan requests, Titan Merchandise has announced the October 2019 launch of our ALL-NEW 3″ window-boxed My Hero Academia Kawaii Titans vinyl figures! The set will be available from a wide variety of retailers, including Hot Topic and Entertainment Earth in the USA and Forbidden Planet in the UK.
