Murder Podcast #4 takes a step back to assess what we know and tease more as the body count rises

Mina and her crew are looking to get to the bottom of the Dead Sounds phenomenon by going to the source: the radio station that originally produced the mysterious podcast. The folks there aren’t forthcoming with answers, however, and the women don’t realize that their public enquiry has now exposed them. The mysterious cult connected to Dead Sounds know who they are and what they are up to!

Elsewhere, the investigation into the murders has caused a rift in Nika and Josie’s marriage, so much so that Nika has moved into a hotel. But will she be safe there with the cult looking for her, as well?

NYCC 2025: Ignition Press Makes its First Appearance with Creator Signings and Limited Edition Comics

Ignition Press has announced they will be exhibiting at New York Comic Con for the first time ever, hosting an array of creators and selling limited edition comics at Booth HB902 in the heart of the convention’s legendary Artist Alley.

Throughout the weekend, Ignition Press will have a variety of amazing creators signing, including Jeremy Haun (The Beauty, Murder Podcast), Jason A. Hurley (The Beauty), David Baldeón (Voyeur), Inaki Miranda & Roy Miranda (Arcadia), Stephanie Williams (Roots of Madness), Cullen Bunn (Deluge), Tim Seeley (NO Place), and Declan Shalvey (Deluge). Ignition Press’ creator-driven approach will be showcased at their booth in Artist Alley and the publisher encourages fans to stop by and celebrate any of the creators’ various works in the comics industry.

Fans can purchase the Ignition Exclusive variant covers for Murder Podcast #1 by Shawn Martinbrough, Voyeur #1 by Tula Lotay, Roots of Madness #1 by Karen Darboe, and Deluge #1 by Declan Shalvey; the Cold Open introductory issue for NO Place and Deluge; and the Local Comic Shop Day edition of The Beauty: Book One. Fans will also have the opportunity to add limited edition Ignition Press merchandise onto their orders at the show or preorder a copy of Arcadia: The Cold Open and have them shipped to their home address afterwards.

Fans who make a purchase at the booth will receive a coin token for the Ignition Press gachapon machine, which includes prizes ranging from premium vinyl stickers, enamel pins, and even Golden Tickets redeemable for original sketches from Ignition Press artists. Fans can also secure a coin token for free by scanning the QR code displayed on the Javits Center TV Network twice every hour throughout the convention! Coin tokens are available while supplies last.

Ignition Press is a participant in Retailer Day and will give a presentation to comic shop retailers on Wednesday, October 8th. This presentation will include information about current series and breaking news about upcoming series and creators coming on board.

Ignition Press Debuts an Exclusive Variant Cover Program for their Webstore

Ignition Press has announced the expansion of their webstore with exclusive direct-to-consumer products. The webstore gives fans the opportunity to secure exclusive products including limited edition variant covers of their favorite series, the Cold Opens, and a variety of merchandise that had previously only been available at special events, Kickstarter campaigns, and conventions.

The publisher will offer limited edition exclusive variant covers of each of their first issues, beginning with the Murder Podcast #1 Ignition Exclusive featuring cover art from Shawn Martinbrough and the Voyeur #1 Ignition Exclusive
showcasing cover art from Tula Lotay. The Murder Podcast #1 Ignition Exclusive is limited to 300 units while the Voyeur #1 Ignition Exclusive is limited to 500 units.

As with all Ignition Press releases, the Ignition Exclusives will feature a unique serial number printed on the back cover tied to the print run of that cover. Fans should note that in order to ensure quality in the printing process and provide copies to the people working on the title, they may receive a numbered copy that exceeds the announced quantity, but that only the announced quantity will be released into circulation. And while readers can also pick up the standard covers and 1:5 variants on the webstore, Ignition Press encourages everyone to support their local comic shop.

Curious about a new series from Ignition Press? Readers can get a copy of a Cold Open for a series, which introduces the premise in an all-new, self-contained story along with behind-the- scenes material and information on how to dive further into the series. Also available are the First Looks, which are special preview books containing black-and-white teasers from three Ignition Press titles, as well as introductions by the authors.

Limited edition merchandise is also available for many series on the site, including a Murder Podcast t-shirt, Roots of Madness hair gloss (for natural AND synthetic hair), a NO Place art print, a Voyeur tote bag, Arcadia and Beauty enamel pins, Deluge face mask, and much more. Previously, this merchandise had only been available at the Ignition Press Room—a boutique pop-up experience at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Fans of true crime podcasts are noticing brand-new episodes of a show they thought was over appearing in their feed, but when they cue up the first episode, they find themselves overtaken by a murderous urge. One that only stops when the killer is stopped, leaving a gruesome death toll in its wake. For Mina and her friends, these killings are just another topic of their daily gossip, a potential new case for the next true crime show they can’t get enough of. Yet, as the killings get closer and closer to their own lives, it’s becoming clear that there is more going on below the surface than any of them realizes.

Written by Jeremy Haun with art by animation veteran and comics’ next superstar Mike Tisserand, colors by Nick Filardi, and letters by AndWorld Design, this debut Ignition Press title will make you think twice the next time you fire up those ear buds and press play on your phone.

Copies of Murder Podcast #1 first printings featuring two open-to-order covers by Haun and Tisserand respectively, with the latter forming a connecting image across multiple covers, and the limited-edition variant by illustrator and sculptor Ebrahel Lurci may still be available at individual stores. The second printing of the debut issue of the true crime horror series will arrive in stores October 29, 2025 alongside the return of The Beauty, also by Jeremy Haun.
