Iman Vellani’s Solo Writing Debut Chachu #1 Heads Back to Print

Chachu #1

Superstar actor Iman Vellani’s solo writing debut Chachu #1, alongside fan-favorite artist Marianna Ignazzi and multiple Eisner Award winning colorist Jordie Bellaire, has sold out completely at the distributor level. Image Comics will rush this exciting new series back-to-print this week in order to keep up with customer demand.

Inspired by her own coming-of-age experiences in the entertainment industry, this all-new, five issue miniseries, produced by Tiny Onion, reinterprets the classic neo-noir private investigator story for a new generation of readers.

Set in 1979, Chachu follows Leila, a 19-year-old Pakistani-Canadian girl with a penchant for film and pulp novels, who travels to California hoping to connect with her estranged uncle—her “Chachu”—a middle-aged, semi-retired private eye once famous for marrying the starlet he was initially hired to find. But when his wife mysteriously vanishes once again, the two are forced on an impromptu road trip investigation that transforms her first taste of adulthood into a thrilling confrontation of family secrets, unresolved grief, and the fantasies both she and Chachu have built their lives around.

Chachu #1, second printing will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, September 2 – UPC: 70985304829900112

Iman Vellani makes her Solo Writing Debut this August with Chachu

Set in 1979, Chachu follows Leila, a 19-year-old Pakistani-Canadian girl with a penchant for film and pulp novels, who travels to California hoping to connect with her estranged uncle—her “Chachu”—a middle-aged, semi-retired private eye once famous for marrying the starlet he was initially hired to find. This Con Season, Nothing’s Contained as Dread the Hall H returns this July

It starts on the show floor. Grab your badges, Dread the Hall H is back! The beloved annual spin-off of the best-selling Dread the Halls returns with 48 pages of convention horror, satire, and chaos from Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated writer Jordan Hart and Syzygy Publishing founder Chris Ryall!

It’s summer convention season again, and Dread the Hall H is back with your VIP pass to 48 pages of convention-related horror stories! Attending this show are Chris Ryall, CP Wilson III, and Tom Williams, who tell connected panel-breaking tales of the con-variant craze gone amok; along with Jordan Hart and Luana Vecchio, who reveal the true terror of A-List actors getting their on-screen characters’ powers; and Hart and Marianna Ignazzi, who introduce the world to the super-powered protector of all con-goers—the CONcluder!

This issue features interior art by Luana VecchioC.P. Wilson IIIMarianna Ignazzi, and Tom Williams that grounds the rapid descent from spectacle to something harder to shake. One story destabilizes spectacle, and another leans into obsession, and all the while, the show floor is coming apart amid the madness!

There’s also a collectable cover lineup that includes Maria The WolfLuana VecchioJordan Hart, plus a 1:10 sketch photo/variant by Tony Fleecs and 1:20 variant from Zach Howard, which incorporates all seven elements from Hall of Fame editor “Carmine Infantino’s 7 Things Guaranteed to Sell a Comic” (gorillas, motorcycles, dinosaurs, cities on fire, purple skies, time rifts, ‘cryin and dyin’), turning the issue into a weird, overstuffed relic you pulled off the convention floor.

But the extended issue doesn’t stop there (pun incoming): “Conland,” a Candyland-style board game illustrated by Chris Anderson, turns waiting in line into an entire experience, stretched out until it stops feeling like a joke. Not to mention, fake product one-page comics riff on ‘70s Hostess ads, just slightly off and a little too specific, but maybe aware enough to feel like they weren’t meant to be found.

Sitting between horror anthology, satire, and shared experience, Dread the Hall H 2026 will resonate with anyone who’s stood in line, chased exclusives, or watched fandom tip into something else entirely. Fans of Ice Cream Man and The Department of Truth will find plenty to latch onto here.

Dread the Hall H 2026, a 48-page, full-color, one-shot, arrives July 22, 2026.

Tiny Onion announces its 2026 Corpse Tour Stops in the U.S. and France!

The Tiny Onion team and Corpse Crew are hitting the road again in 2026 for additional stops of the popular Corpse Tour, the event tour celebrating James Tynion IV, Michael Walsh, and the Corpse Crew’s hit horror comic book series Exquisite Corpses, published by Image Comics. Each stop features an intimate Q&A with Tynion and creators, a signing, exclusive event cards for Exquisite Corpses: The Game (beta version playable now), and merchandise for sale.

In 2026, the Corpse Tour will kick off in January with the first stop at Tate’s Comic + Toys in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in celebration of the release of the Exquisite Corpses #9, co-written by Tynion and Tyler Boss, and co-illustrated by Walsh and Valentine De Landro. Tynion and company will then head to France in February for the release of the French edition.

The Corpse Crew will go on to visit the Vault of Midnight store in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in March, timed to the release of Exquisite Corpses #11, and the The Nerd Store in Salt Lake City, Utah, in April, timed to the release of the penultimate issue, Exquisite Corpses #12. There will also be a special stop in May in honor of the final issue of the first Season, Exquisite Corpses #13, hitting shelves, with more exciting details to come. The Corpse Crew will return to San Diego Comic-Con with a July stop at Now or Never, and there will also be to-be-revealed stops in September and November.

In Exquisite Corpses, every five years on Halloween, the wealthiest families in America play a game. Twelve of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine—this year’s unlucky arena—the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night. The first issue can be read digitally for free on the Image Comics site. The second half of the first Season of the series will have many twists and turns, leading to a shocking ending that will have fans losing their minds.

The series came together in a writers’ room led by Tynion IV and Walsh and made up of “Corpse Crew” comics superstars Adam Gorham, Becca Carey, Che Grayson, Claire Roe, Gavin Fullerton, Jordie Bellaire, Marianna Ignazzi, Pornsak Pichetshote, Tyler Boss, and Valentine De Landro. Each issue of the series builds upon the last in a true ‘exquisite corpse’ game style, with a passing of the storytelling baton from creator-to-creator in a collaborative and competitive fashion.
