Trust No One in BOOM!’s Wild’s End: The Enemy Within

In 2014, publisher BOOM! Studios invited readers to the sleepy village of Lower Crowchurch at the cusp of a violent, otherworldly invasion in the critically acclaimed Wild’s End, an anthropomorphic mashup of Wind in the Willows and War of the Worlds. This September, creators Dan Abnett and I.N.J. Culbard team up once more, this time drawing influence from Invasion of the Body Snatchers in the paranoia-fueled follow-up series Wild’s End: The Enemy Within.

As Clive, Susan, Fawkes, and the other survivors of the alien invasion of Lower Crowchurch try to cope with what just happened to their small town, the military arrives in an attempt to cover up the “incident.” Town residents are immediately detained, questioned, and treated with suspicion. Are they alien spies, collaborators, sympathizers? Clive and the rest will need to escape imprisonment if they’re to get the word out and warn the rest of the world before the aliens return.

Readers can pick up the trade paperback for Wild’s End: First Light on September 30th for $19.99 under Diamond order code JUL151082. The Final Order Cutoff deadline for retailers is September 7th.

Wild’s End: The Enemy Within #1 (of 6) arrives in comic shops on September 23rd with a main cover by series artist I.N.J. Culbard for the price of $3.99 under Diamond order code JUL151079. Also available in a limited quality is a Jackpot incentive cover by Jake Wyatt, a 10 Years incentive cover by Rob Guillory, and a retailer incentive cover by Jeff Lemire.

The Final Order Cutoff deadline for retailers is August 31st.

Gerard Way Makes His Marvel Debut For Edge of Spider-Verse #5!

Prepare for the biggest Spider-Man event of all-time as every Spider-Man from every universe unites to stop a threat that could spell extinction for their kind! Today, Marvel is proud to present your first look at Edge of Spider-Verse #5 – the final chapter in the blockbuster 5-issue mini-series showcasing different Spider-Men (and women) of the Spider-Verse! Eisner Award-winning writer Gerard Way makes his Marvel debut alongside rising star artist Jake Wyatt for a Spider-Man tale unlike any other!

In an interview with Marvel.com, Way said:

In a futurist city fairly different from the New York we are familiar with, our version of Spider-Man takes the shape of a government project: SP//dr. SP//dr is comprised of three vital components: a pilot, a machine, and a radioactive sentient spider acting as one half of the brain that makes it all work. Peni Parker is a young girl, who, left parentless, is adopted by her Aunt May and Uncle Ben, the two heads of the SP//dr project. When they realize Peni is the only one who can successfully pair with SP//dr, they make the unorthodox decision to train her as SP//dr’s newest pilot.

As Peni Parker suits up in her incredible spider-powered armor, explore the incredible new universe she inhabits. Yet even though, she pilots her unstoppable machine, it still may not be enough to save her universe from the onslaught of Morlun. Edge of Spider-Verse concludes in grand fashion this October as Way & Wyatt take you to an incredible new universe in Edge of Spider-Verse #5!

Plus, don’t miss out on these exciting Edge of Spider-Verse tie-in issues of your favorite ongoing series:

  • Superior Spider-Man #32 & #33
  • Amazing Spider-Man #7 & #8
