The Marvel Universe Miniature Game Adds the Dark Avengers, Dr. Doom, and the Thing!

It’s been around a little over two months since Knight Model‘s last release for the Marvel Universe Miniature Game. The game publisher has announced three new releases today and two are pretty shocking! The game gets some more much-needed villains and one of the members of the Fantastic Four, a whole lot of support for the Avengers faction!

It should be no surprise that Dr. Doom is coming to the game, and at level 11 he will likely have entire teams built around him. With abilities to prevent ranged attacks, teleport, and more, he’s every bit the powerful villain he should be.

Marvel Universe Miniature Game Dr. Doom

What’s Dr. Doom without the Fantastic Four to stop him? The Thing is now available to bring to your team. He’s as tough as you’d expect. Can the rest of the FF be far behind?

Marvel Universe Miniature Game The Thing

The Dark Avengers are ready to take on all comers! Composing of Iron Patriot (Norman Osborn), Ares, Sentry, and Ms. Marvel, this is a superhero team made up of villains. Not one I expected to see in the game, and definitely not this early.

All of the models are available for order now!

Preview: James Rhodes Flies Solo in a First Look at Iron Patriot #1!

This March, peel back the layers of Colonel James Rhodes in Iron Patriot #1 – the all-new series from writer Ales Kot and artist Garry Brown! Who is the man in the armor? What drives him? James Rhodes may have quit the Secret Avengers, but that’s not going to stop him from bringing the fight to the bad guys from inside the Iron Patriot armor! But his heroism will come with a steep price…

In an interview with Marvel.com, Kot said:

James Rhodes has a family. James Rhodes has friends. James Rhodes has a suit and responsibility and dreams and hopes, and he just realized he needs a new plan. Something that will be more in touch with who he is and what he wants.

As new villains emerge and a deadly conspiracy from within America grows – the Iron Patriot stands alone against impossible foes.

NYCC 2013: More Marvel! Miracleman, Iron Patriot, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer & More!

Saturday saw a good chunk of announcements at New York Comic Con from Marvel, including some long rumored or wondered about series and characters. Numerous teasers that have hinted as to what we can expect were revealed!

  • Avengers A.I.” #8.NOW – The series heads to the 130th century with the Uncanny Avengers and a new division of S.H.I.E.L.D. called the “Robot Hunter Squad”

  • Ghost Rider rides in 2014! – Looks like Ghost Rider is getting some focus again. Not only will the Spirit of Vengeance get his own series written by Felipe Smith and drawn by Tradd Moore but he’ll also join Charles Soule‘s Thunderbolts. However…. from reports, it looks like Thunderbolts will have Johnny Blaze while the solo series will be someone new!

  • Iron Patriot Ales Kot with art by Garry Brown take on James Rhodes in his own series who attempts to forge his own path (as opposed to the other series where he tried the same thing).
