Dispatched #1 is basically Die Hard but an ex-black ops agent instead of a cop

Estranged from his family and living under a government-issued alias, ex-black ops agent Morgan Power endures a life in suburban exile as a delivery driver for a major global courier company. It’s a 180 from his action-packed classified work abroad, until a routine shift puts him in the crosshairs of a domestic terrorist takedown. Trapped in the parking garage of a besieged corporate office park, Power goes back to basics with nothing but his survival skills and a delivery van full of unopened packages—and endless possibilities—to fight his way from floor to floor and free the hostages. But some boxes hold more trash than treasure, and Powers will also have to contend with his intensifying PTSD as the situation escalates and time runs out.

Ignition Press adds Max Marcil and Ian Shaughnessy to its team

Ignition Press has announced it has expanded its team with new key hires ahead of Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC). Max Marcil has joined as Senior Designer and Ian Shaughnessy has joined the company as Editor as of June.

Max Marcil joined Ignition Press as a Senior Designer in May and in his new role will support the Marketing and Editorial teams alongside Art Director Scott Newman. Max started his career in comics as the first creative team hire at Tapas Media. Max has provided series logos, book cover designs, animations, web designs, marketing graphics, and more to partners in comics and beyond. He’s worked with Skybound, StoryGrounds, and Kodama Tales, and has been a consistent backstage collaborator of prominent fantasy author TurtleMe, best known for The Beginning After The End, alongside many former Tapas colleagues. Max is looking forward to using his broad skillset to help push Ignition Press to new heights.

Ian Shaughnessy is beyond excited to join Ignition Press as Editor, reporting to Senior Editor Maggie Howell. He previously worked with Editor-in-Chief Jamie S. Rich during Rich’s tenure as Editor-in-Chief at Oni Press, which makes this a special full-circle moment for him. He’s thrilled to be working with Rich, Howell, Assistant Editor Nora Ornstein, and the rest of the publishing team on many of their upcoming projects. An academically trained expert in narrative particularly those by queer and marginalized storytellers—he cannot wait to further Ignition’s mission of getting quality stories by diverse creators in readers’ hands!

Marcil and Shaughnessy are the latest hires for Ignition Press after the company added Daniel Crary (Director of Sales), Steph Hocutt (Marketing Manager), Nicki Naff (Operations Manager), Nora Ornstein (Assistant Editor), and Taylor Stone (Executive Assistant) last year.

The Dogsitter #1 is an adorable debut that feels like a throwback to romance comics

Heel…sit…stay—for a summer rom-com with bark and bite!

Gemma Monroe should be reveling in her ’20s. Instead, she’s on a leave of absence from veterinarian school to save for rising tuition, stacking shifts at a flower shop and juggling her side gig as a dogsitter. Gemma’s favorite canine client—an Akita with an identity crisis—comes with the most demanding dog-mom: Portia Ross, a high-powered executive with deep pockets who sees Gemma as a pet project of her own. It’s delicate, but Gemma knows that getting her life back on track means this customer is always right. And the policy works…until Gemma locks eyes with the charming Neal Mandell, and what starts as a welcome casual fling unleashes a transactional love triangle that could throw her future to the dogs.
