Image Comics and Top Cow have revealed a line-wide Witchblade Team-Up variant covers in celebration of the milestone Witchblade (2024) #25 issue’s premiere this September. Some of the biggest names in comics will put their artistic spin on Witchblade as its iconic characters make an appearance across the covers of some of Image’s most popular ongoing series.
Witchblade is a comic book series published by Top Cow Productions, which ran from November 1995 to October 2015 and December 2017 to January 2020. The series was created by Marc Silvestri, David Wohl, Brian Haberlin, and Michael Turner. The comic series was made into a TNT television series in 2001 and was directed by Ralph Hemecher and starred Yancy Butler as Sara Pezzini. Later, Top Cow and Japanese animation studio Gonzo produced an anime adaptation of Witchblade, which debuted in 2006.
Marguerite Bennett and Guiseppe Cafaro’s current run on Witchblade (2024) features a reimagined origin, with contemporary takes on familiar characters, as well as fresh story arcs to hook new fans and rekindle the energy and excitement that fueled the ’90s Image Revolution. New York City Police Detective Sara Pezzini’s life is forever fractured by her father’s murder. Cold, cunning, and hellbent on revenge, Sara now stalks a vicious criminal cabal beneath the city, where an ancient power collides and transforms her into something wild, magnificent, and beyond her darkest imaginings. How will Sara use this ancient power? …Or will she be consumed by it?

The debut issue of The Eye Collector—by writer Jonathan Ball and writer/artist GMB Chomichuk—has launched big with horror fans and sold out completely at the distributor level. This all-new cosmic horror premiere will be rushed back to print by Image in order to keep up with reorder activity.
The Eye Collector #1, second printing will also feature psychedelic new cover art by Chomichuk.

The Eye Collector explores themes of desire and fantasy while focusing on how our perspective informs and shapes our reality. We have seen, of course, nightmare versions of how this unfolds in the political and social world, as algorithms have transformed the media landscape into distorted funhouse mirrors, and AI increasingly makes our world hallucinatory and erodes our ability to discern the real from the deepfake.
However, the story focuses more claustrophobically on how the monstrous Eye Collector, who returns to Earth and begins to tempt the parents of a child living in a neglectful household with realizing their dreams in exchange for their son’s eyes.

This week sees the release of one the most anticipated graphic novels of the year, Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal. To celebrate the book’s release, Amuse Group USA and Z2 Comics are releasing a preview of the book, which features the art of GMB Chomichuk and explores the unknown mythology of the band. Amuse Group USA and Z2 Comics also announced today that, in response to high demand in Japan, Z2 has prepared a Japanese translation guide for Apocrypha. The guide, which directly translates the book line-by-line from English to Japanese, will be available via an exclusive link using a code found in the book. A definitive Japanese edition has not yet been determined.

Until now, the publication of Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal has largely been shrouded in secrecy, but that will begin to change at New York Comic Con. On Thursday, October 4th, GMB Chomichuk will appear at an Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal panel, where he will detail the development and creation of the graphic novel. The panel will be held at the Main Stage of Anime Fest at NYCC from 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM. Z2 Comics will also be selling 3 limited edition Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal posters at Anime Fest booth #5319 and NYCC booth #1255.
