Alien: King Killer, a new chapter in Marvel’s acclaimed Alien comic book storytelling begins this April, and it promises to deliver the darkest era of the Alien universe yet. The five-issue limited series by writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Carlos Nieto will take place on a planet that’s already succumbed to Xenomorphs, a horrifying victory that pushes humanity to its limits and explores the ultimate cost of survival. Fans will also have a chance to dive deeper into the saga on Comics Giveaway Day on May 2 with a special prelude story by Ahmed and artist Emilio Laiso in Alien, Predator & Planet of the Apes #1 CGD 2026.

Celebrate Baltimore Comic-Con‘s 25th Anniversary at the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center on September 20-22, 2024. The Baltimore Comic-Con has announced comics guests Rose Besch, Michael Cho, Mike McKone, Jerome Opena, Matt Slay, and David Yardin to the 25th Anniversary event! The convention’s website has ticketing details available now!

Rose Besch is a Korean-American artist based in the US, creating lavish, modern illustrations and fashionable characters for apparel, comics, films, games, and toys. She’s worked with clients like Marvel, DC, Mattel, and Lootcrate, and her work has been featured in exhibitions in the US and Japan.

Michael Cho is a freelance cartoonist/illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. Michael has drawn a large variety of covers and a few stories for publishers like Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Valiant, and others. He also paints book covers and draws editorial illustrations for clients like Penguin Books and The New Yorker. Along the way, Michael has picked up a few awards for his artwork. He’s currently hard at work on a large graphic novel for Abrams’ MarvelArts line.

Hailing from England, Mike McKone‘s first published work was for DC Comics’ Justice League of America and Marvel Comics’ Punisher series. In the years since, he has illustrated almost every major character from the big two publishers, including lengthy runs on Teen TitansAmazing Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four. Recent projects were the Avengers graphic novel, Endless Wartime and Justice League United. Now residing in the US, McKone is working on a creator-owned project while providing covers and merchandising illustrations for clients such as Marvel, DC, Dynamite, Valiant, Dorling Kindersley, and Converse.

Illustrator and writer Andy Price has been the lead artist for the record-breaking My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic books from IDW Publishing. Andy is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School, and works in most mediums. His art runs from cute cartoon animals to superheroes to horrific terrors. Past work includes IDW Publishing, DC Comics, Marvel, Image, Storm King Productions, LEGO, and Archie Comics. Andy is also the illustrator for The Unofficial Horror Movie Coloring Book and the Cryptid Creatures Coloring Book, both available from Adams Media. He lives in the USA, where he watches horror films, scoops cat boxes, and celebrates James T. Kirk’s birthday.

Matt Slay has worked in comics for 15 years, but quickly made a name for himself painting variant covers for IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. His dark and earthy watercolors bring a grown-up sense of danger to any character. Born in St. Michaels and raised in Easton, the Maryland native now paints for the sci-fi anthology series Time Traveled Tales with authors such as Timothy Zahn. Matt has generated production art for Marvel Premiere as well as Iron Man 3, and has since provided covers for Six Gun Gorilla and American Mythology’s Equilibrium while writing his own book and cartoon series, 3 Story Dungeon. Matt is represented by Comic Art House.

David Yardin has been illustrating comic books professionally for over 24 years. The son of Mauritian immigrants, David was born, raised, and is based in Sydney, Australia.

He got his start in the industry after studying under Whilce Portacio in the Philippines in 1999. He has since had his work published by Image Comics, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, BOOM! Studios, and Valiant Comics.

While David has predominantly worked on books from the X-Men office at Marvel throughout his career, including District XStormX-Men Origins: Gambit, and Black Panther/X-Men, after a four-year run as the regular cover artist on X-Factor, his cover work was sought after on many of Marvel’s other titles. David’s artwork has also been featured in the best selling Injustice series at DC Comics, and he has provided covers for Justice LeagueSuicide SquadWonder Woman, and The Flash.

David has also worked on many special projects outside of his regular comic book work, from conducting workshops at the flagship Microsoft Store in Sydney, to illustrating artwork on DC’s Harley Quinn Spinsanity ride at Six Flags amusement parks, to providing promotional artwork for many of Marvel’s film releases: Marvel’s The AvengersGuardians of the GalaxyAvengers: Age of UltronCaptain America: Civil War, and Doctor Strange.
