Avatar: The Last Airbender gets new figures from Dark Horse, Nickelodeon, and Paramount

Dark Horse Deluxe, in partnership with Nickelodeon and Paramount Consumer Products, is proud to announce a new, high-end line of figures based on the hit animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. These deluxe hand-painted plastic figures feature fan-favorite characters showcasing their ability to manipulate one of four elements, also known as bending. The base of each figure features the symbol of their respective bending style. The first two figures of the line are the Katara Figure and the Zuko Figure.

As the last known Waterbender in her war-ravaged Southern Water Tribe, Katara held onto hope in a hopeless world until she discovered the long-lost Avatar. Now, she’s a waterbending master who helped end the Hundred Year War and will always jump into harm’s way to fight injustice.

As a young prince of the Fire Nation, Zuko was originally the bitter enemy of Avatar Aang and his friends. After much internal struggle, he realized it was his responsibility to end the Fire Nation’s reign of terror. Now, as a lifelong friend to the Avatar and reigning Fire Lord, he strives to lead his people into a new era of peace.

The Katara Figure stands approximately 6” tall and the Zuko Figure stands at approximately 6.5” tall. They will retail for $59.99 each and are available October 26, 2022.

Dark Horse Reveals The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Bookends

In partnership with CD PROJEKT RED, Dark Horse Deluxe has announced the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Bookends, arriving Summer 2021.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Bookends are inspired by the architecture of Kaer Morhen, the ruined keep where witchers of the School of the Wolf were trained in the hit video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD PROJEKT RED. This set of two polyresin bookends each stand at 8 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 5.25 inches deep and are the perfect addition to any witcher’s library.

Dark Horse Deluxe Expands The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Figure Collection

Following the success of Dark Horse and CD PROJEKT RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt figures of Geralt, Triss, Ciri, Yennefer, and Eredin, Dark Horse is excited to expand The Witcher world with three new characters.

The new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt figures consist of Geralt of Rivia, Dandelion, and Shani. Geralt is ready for battle in Grandmaster Ursine armor, providing him immense protection from melee attacks. The bard Dandelion is Geralt’s close friend. Shani, Geralt’s friend and love interest, is the medic from Hearts of Stone expansion to The Witcher 3.

Each figure is exquisitely detailed and modeled to match the character’s likeness. They are each intricate in costume details, custom painted, and displayed in deluxe window packaging. The suggested retail price is $34.99. Geralt, Dandelion, and Shani are slated for release in September 2017.

Dark Horse Partners with Peanuts to Distribute Limited-Edition Snoopy Qee Mystery Figures!

Dark Horse Deluxe will produce a mystery box assortment of two-inch figures in the popular mini Qee format that will put a unique design spin on Snoopy, the lovable beagle from the popular Peanuts comic strip.

Dark Horse sees Snoopy as a must-have for the company’s designer line of collectible toys and has created variations of color and design to pique the interest of customers. The first collection offers eighteen different versions of the figures in various colors and with unique surface treatments, including metallic, flocked, black-light sensitive, glitter, and glow in the dark.

Slated for release in summer 2016 for the US and Canadian markets only, the collectible figures will be produced and sold in a fifteen-figure mystery box counter display with a retail price of $6.99 per figure.

Toy Fair 2016: Outlander Collectibles Debut at Dark Horse

Dark Horse Comics’ toys and collectibles imprint, Dark Horse Deluxe, will be offering new items based on characters and stories from the hit Starz show Outlander! The Outlander collectibles from Dark Horse are licensed through Sony Pictures Television in a deal brokered by Knockout Licensing.

Outlander is a popular television drama that tells the story of World War II army nurse Claire Randall. While on her honeymoon, Claire is transported to 1743, where her freedom and life are threatened. To survive, she marries Jamie Fraser, a dashing Scots warrior with a complicated past and a disarming sense of humor. A passionate relationship ensues, and Claire is caught between two vastly different men in two inharmonious lives.

Dark Horse Deluxe is launching its Outlander line with an assortment of products. The centerpieces of this first wave are the stainless steel stein and the beautifully sculpted Crown and Thistle pin.

A coaster set, magnetic bookmarks, magnet four-pack, Crown and Thistle journal, and embroidered patch round out the initial range of products. Dark Horse will continue to offer more Outlander products, including a program of collectible items. Stay tuned . . .

NYCC 2015: Dark Horse Announces New Game of Throne Figures

Dark Horse Deluxe, an imprint of Dark Horse Comics, has revealed the latest figure in an ongoing series of characters from the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones—Varys.

Varys will be the twenty-third figure in the series and is slated for in-store release in April of 2016, just in time for the launch of season 6 of Game of Thrones.

A member of the Small Council, Varys is known as the Master of Whisperers. He has an army of “Little Birds” that keep him well informed of all matters pertaining to the realm. Dark Horse captures the slyness of Varys in the detailed plastic prepainted figure, which measures 8.25 inches in height and comes in collector window box display packaging.

The Varys collectible will join four additional Game of Thrones figures in spring 2016: Ygritte, Margaery Tyrell, Oberyn Martell, and Grey Worm.

Ygritte, quick witted with a temper as fiery as her hair, is a skilled archer living in the frozen wilderness north of the Wall. She is the tempestuous lover of Jon Snow and also his foe in battle.

Raised an aristocrat, the beautiful and cunning Margaery Tyrell is the widow of Renly Baratheon and was betrothed to Joffrey until his death. Later wed to Tommen Baratheon, she is imprisoned by the Faith Militant, a victim of Cersei’s schemes. Her fate is still pending as season 6 approaches.

Prince Oberyn Martell, also known as the Red Viper of Dorne, is a noteworthy character. His battle with Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane is one of the more exciting moments in the series.

Grey Worm has emerged from slavery to fight for Daenerys as a free man. Skilled at both battle and subterfuge, he is a sly warrior.

All of these Game of Thrones figures will have a suggested retail price of $24.99 and are packaged in deluxe window box packaging.

Dark Horse Deluxe Gets Grimm!

Dark Horse’ toys and collectibles imprint, Dark Horse Deluxe, is proud to offer new items based on characters and stories from the hit NBC show Grimm!

Grimm is a cop drama inspired by the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, following Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt into a reality he never knew existed. Once he discovers this new world, and his role in it, he has to deal with much more than the usual criminals and investigations. With his partner Hank and ally Monroe (who is also a magical creature called a Blutbad), Nick delves into cases involving bees, bats, bears, and more!

Dark Horse Deluxe is launching their Grimm line with an assortment of products. The centerpieces of this first wave are sculpted, wearable pin replicas of Nick’s key and one of the coins of Zakynthos.

Nick is bequeathed the key as his dying Aunt Marie introduces him to his destiny as a Grimm, warning him to guard it with his life. The key is revealed to have a map carved on the outside, which is etched into the replica pin’s surface. Two small loops on the key allow the wearer to easily convert it from a pin to a hanging pendant. The mysterious, ancient coin of Zakynthos has a long history of bringing a bad end to its possessors, although the Grimms seem strangely immune. While its purpose remains a mystery, various dark forces are seeking it and will kill to attain ownership of it. The Dark Horse coin pin replica is given an antique finish over zinc alloy, re-creating the patina of antiquity.

An embossed, heavy-gauge, litho-printed, classic tin lunchbox, a sixteen-ounce pint glass, a deluxe coffee mug, and an embroidered skull-design patch round out the initial range of collectibles. Dark Horse will continue to offer more Grimm products, including busts, journals, and playing cards, and some very cool lenticular items. Stay tuned . . .

Dark Horse Deluxe and BioWare Unveil Turian Cruiser!

One of the cornerstones of both Dark Horse’s publishing and product line in recent years, has been the massive video game franchise, Mass Effect.

To date, Dark Horse Deluxe has released four different ships, as well as limited edition variant, and high end editions. Up next is the Turian cruiser, which bears some slight resemblance to the Normandy, due to the cooperative effort between the Turians and the human race in the Alliance ship’s construction. This race in Mass Effect, are members of the Citadel Council, well known for their military role, and their contribution of starships to the Citadel Fleet.

Each Turian Cruiser Replica package will contain an insert card, with a unique code, that will enhance the Mass Effect game experience for individual consumers.

Look for this exciting new release in Diamond’s Previews catalog shortly, with a release date set for November 6, with a retail price tag of $34.99!

C2E2 2013: Dark Horse Deluxe Announces Powers Product Line

Dark Horse Deluxe, an imprint of Dark Horse Comics, has licensed rights to create figures based on Powers, the long-running creator-owned series of comics and graphic novels by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Avon Oeming.

Projects include a limited-edition statue of Retro Girl, a central figure in the first Powers story arc, and a boxed set of vinyl figures of the series’ ongoing principal characters.

Combining the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir, and police procedural, Powers follows the lives and cases of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, who are referred to as “powers.”

The Retro Girl statue will be sculpted by Tony Cipriano, who has created many popular superhero-themed collectible statues for a variety of companies. Michael Avon Oeming, working in concert with Bendis and Dark Horse, created special art for the statue, which will be used as control art during sculpting. The statue will capture the stylized nature of the graphic art, while anchoring the figure in realism.

Dark Horse also plans a boxed set of four-to-five-inch vinyl figures, which will include protagonists Walker and Pilgrim as centerpieces of the ensemble.

Both projects are slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2013. The prototypes will be shown to the trade and the public for the first time as part of the product display in the Dark Horse booth at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Retail prices and edition sizes are to be determined.
